In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] S3-upload failureThanks David – I didn’t see your reply when I posted my feedback – that’s an amazingly swift response so I’m off to donate ’cause I’m a ‘happy bunny’! ??

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] S3-upload failureIn spite of the error message the backup seems to have worked because there are files in my S3 bucket! So I guess the error message when I tested was not valid.
Sorry to have bothered you. ??

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] S3-upload failureHi David,
I’ve just installed your backup/restore system (I’m running v 1.4.13) and when I click the test S3 settings I get this message:
Settings test result:
<b>Warning</b>: S3::putObject(): [PermanentRedirect] The bucket you are attempting to access must be addressed using the specified endpoint. Please send all future requests to this endpoint. in <b>/home/copywrit/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/S3.php</b> on line <b>223</b>
Failure: We successfully accessed (Amazon region: eu-west-1) the bucket, but the attempt to create a file in it failed.Do I need to add something to allow files to be created?

In reply to: Approved Comments Not DisplayingHi Moshu,
well that is really strange! I changed to the WordPress Default, checked the site view and comments came up OK. So I thought “OK – I’ll have to compare the coding to see what’s missing.” Changed back to the theme I was using and voila! the comments are now showing in there too!
Don’t know why, but I’ll keep an eye on it and see if it continues to behave.
Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
Carol

In reply to: Approved Comments Not DisplayingThanks Moshu,
I’ll test it tonight – when the majority of my visitors are likely asleep and not visiting so they don’t wonder what’s happening if the layout suddenly changes. ;?D
I’ll post the result tomorrow – I really, really appreciate your help.

In reply to: Approved Comments Not DisplayingThanks for replying Moshu – I’ll test it. Will I lose my theme set up if I change over though?

In reply to: Visitors cannot add commentsSorted – you guys are fantabulous – is that a word?
The statement was in the single.php but it showed as
<?php // comments_template(); ?>
So I took the // out and now it works fine – thank you so much.

In reply to: Visitors cannot add commentsThat helps – at least I know where to look now. I’ll let you know if that resolves my problem. Cheers!

In reply to: Problem creating/assigning categoriesI was having the same problem adding categories. I was using Firefox as my browser.
I tried adding categories using Internet Explorer – and the categories added fine.
Bit of a pain but at least when using IE it works.

In reply to: Categories problem – WordPress Blueidea themeWell 3 out of 4 is good. The category, month & RSS links are OK.
I honestly didn’t understand the widgetizing stuff – it seems to be aimed at the theme developers. I’m not a programmer or theme developer – just an end-user, so I suppose I’ll just have to live without widget add-ons unless the author does respond to my earlier emails.
Thanks anyway Michael
