It works, which is what matters even if it’s not ideal. We did set the feed ttl to 0 this morning and purged, but it made no difference. And all the other feeds on all the categories work. I’ll revisit it when I have more time and see if I can discover why the home page feed isn’t working properly. But for now the workaround keeps subscribers happy.

I’ve got round the issue, but not solved the underlying problem, by changing the feed at Feedburner to poll the Car News feed instead, which means that Feedburner is up to date and any other feed polling the home page feed should then get the latest posts as it will redirect to Feedburner. It’s not ideal, but I’ve spent enough time on this. Thanks for your feedback.

Like other feed readers it just polls the feed, but as the feed isn’t updating then it, and any other subscribers set up to the home page feed, are missing everything from the last three days.

It was set up over 10 years ago to send the WP RSS feed for the home page to Feedburner so it was easier to read and to garner subscribers. It’s just worked since then, but the error is definitely the home page feed not updating, whereas all the others do (like https://www.carsuk.net/car-news/feed

It only started when we installed LS plug-in, so this morning we stopped caching feeds to see if it helps. Nothing else changed during this time so it seemed LS would be the culprit. I guess we’ll have to go back to WP Rocket to fix it. Thanks for your input.

That feed is also used by other feed readers (like Feedly) where it’s not being updated either.

That’s correct. Feedburner is very outdated but there are several hundred subscribers on there – not a huge amount but worth keeping happy!

Strictly speaking, the home page feed is https://www.carsuk.net/feed, and it’s sent to Feedburner for the last decade without issue! All other feeds are working, but not this and it’s only updated once since we updated since we installed the LS plugin.

Also, on a slightly related note, is there any way to have the drop-down list of page links to be sorted alphabetically?

The update has just turned up on our dashboard, but updating has made no difference. We still can’t save custom links or the page link. Assume it’s a permissions issue?

We have managed to get the galleries working again by re-saving the permalink structure.

However, although the columns are now back on the gallery manage page – as are all the thumbnails – we cannot save any changes we make (e.g. linked page or custom fields) so new galleries aren’t working.

It seems the update has raised another problem!

For a long time, every time we’ve published a new gallery we’ve had to go to settings, uncheck ‘Add a Static Link’, save and then recheck and save again otherwise only the first image on a gallery works and subsequent images hit a 404.

Now, since applying the update, that doesn’t work and all of our thousands of galleries will only show the first image (example at https://www.carsuk.net/car-image-galleries/audi-galleries/audi-rs-q3-performance-photos/)

We’re using NextGen Custom Fields. We have thousands of galleries and all use this for a custom link for thumbnails. The galleries already on site are functioning normally, including the link from thumbnail to gallery page.
