I am sorry a backslash between genclonblog and gencon got eaten up by gremlins in the post above.

jungleskipper, try using the same slash throughout to specify the upload path, try “/” first. That should work, if not, try “\”.

In other words,
d:/hosting/teamiuz/genconblog/gencon/wp-content
should work, else the equivalent with backslashes should.

In the Miscellaneous options page, try specifying the path to the upload directory using backward slashes instead of forward slashes. Looks like you are on a windows server.

Even without auto-updating the .htaccess file turned on, I see that if I leave my permalink structure blank, and putting in a new string for the category base, I get no rewrite rules to use to update my .htaccess.

Looks like a bug, please file a detailed bug report. Any help fixing it would be awesome, too.

Also, even if the list be huge, some might not be appropriate for your blog – say like a site that tracks only Japanese blogs (Assuming your blog is not in Japanese.)

The path to the “require”d files are to be calculated respective to the directory from which the “require” is made, which will be wp-content/plugins.

So, use absolute paths, or use some way to ensure that the path is right. There are some variables that are set to enable this to happen in an easier fashion. Compare with how others do it for best results

nikkiana, maybe you can use a desktop program, like w-bloggar, which posts to multiple blogs at a time?

You have to “close” pings to that post too.

Deselect the “Allow Pings” option when you edit the post, and then it should show the comments closed text.

It is a permissions problem. Try contacting your webhost, with details about trying to access files in the wp-content folder, and they should be able to help you out in a speedier fashion than us.

The importer only imports data – you have to create/duplicate the style manually.

A good way to do this would be to create a new theme, learning from the current theme, using the same div/class ids etc as the old blogger style, and then editing the wp theme/template files to produce pages that conform to that structure.

This is not an easy task, but I’m afraid there is no easier way.
