The problem may have to do with my .htaccess file. When I take that out, I get a directory list, not the blog.

I’m having this same problem. I can open the admin panel, but when I try to go to the WP page I get this:

“Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /****/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any ideas?

I tinkered with the settings on EC3 and it’s now working and the home page is updating.

This did it. I deleted all the unused and unnecessary plug-ins and determined that the bad actors are the Event Calendar and Event Calendar Widget plug-ins. So the front page updates but now I have to figure out how to make the plug-ins work because the EC Widget in my sidebar is a key feature of the site.

Thanks for your help and if you’ve any ideas on this one I’d love to hear them. I’ll go to the developer’s site and see if I can contact the developer directly.

It does the same thing with all my installed themes, even the default. Sigh……

It’s not a cache issue.
