@wagonerdesign no, I did not get it resolved. That was with HiVelocity hosting. I don’t have the same issue with sites running on my personal Linode server, so I would guess it’s a problem related to the way cpanel is set up, but I won’t ever know, because no one was able to provide answers.

Nevermind – I just changed the ‘orderby’ to ID in the plugin itself, and I’ll make a note to go back and change it again at each update.

Is it possible to change the order of a dropdown pre-filled with a taxonomy?

Got it – I found out that even if the ‘author’ – being the person submitting the Gravity Form – doesn’t have edit_post capabilities, they will still be listed as the author of the custom post type post that is published as a result of their form being filled out, so this isn’t a problem any more.

I installed that plugin and added the capability, but it didn’t work. So I’m assuming this is not something S2Member is capable of doing?

I would also love to see the ability to show posts from favorite authors.

I’d like the ability to add a sorting dropdown with the CPTUI Extended plugin, so not only can I choose how the posts are sorted originally, but site viewers can change to sort by date, author, etc.

PHP and Apache errors are both logged to the same file in a cpanel/WHM setup. I’m sorry for anyone else following along having the same issue, as I won’t be coming to a resolution. I’m giving up on this nonsense and switching to a different payment gateway.

I’ve looked at the server logs, and there are no Error 500’s to be found. The WooCommerce PayPal log has every single transaction in it, so from what you’re saying, it sounds like this is a WooCommerce problem. Here is the PayPal error log:

The included PayPal bit of WooCommerce is not paid, so there’s not a way for me to request paid help on WooThemes.com; however, I buy quite a lot of WC extensions – is there any way you can connect me with someone who can log into the site and figure out why this is happening?

It’s so frustrating, because you’ve said it’s PayPal, and PayPal said it was the host, and the host says it’s WooCommerce (and I checked the server logs, with no relevant ‘paypal’ or ‘error 500’ info. I know that’s funny, but it’s causing issues with a lot of large transactions every day, and it feels like my only other option is to switch to a higher fee payment gateway.

PayPal has just sent out an email stating:

The IPN is correct, and although PayPal is telling me they are getting an internal server error (500) in response to trying to send the IPN, I am seeing no logs of Error 500 for the domain in question on the server.

Both PayPal and my hosting provider are saying this is a WordPress/WooCommerce problem. What else can I possibly investigate to get this to work?

Mike, I’ve just written PayPal support, but while in the process, they sent me an email stating the IPN url is not working, and reports failing transactions. When I go to the URL, it displays “PayPal IPN Request Failure” – https://dpceventservices.com/wc-api/WC_Gateway_Paypal/

Is this just because I’m visiting it without sending any IPN data, when I go to the URL directly? I also noticed PayPal adds slashes to the URL, whereas the URL I enter in PayPal settings ends in “?wc-api=WC_Gateway_Paypal”, not “/wc-api/WC_Gateway_Paypal”. Could that cause the issue as well?

I’ve already been through that entire doc, and none of the debugging steps have fixed the problem.

After uploading those files, the PDT actually worked for an order (PayPal Identity Token for PayPal Data Transfer), but when I disabled PDT (after uploading the above files) – because there’s no guarantee customers will wait to be redirected – I got the second error, and order stuck in Pending yet again.
