p.s.s. I would be willing to use buttons in place of “areas” if it would make the job easier. I’m thinking that by using buttons, maybe I wouldn’t need an image map which should make things less complicated.

p.s. it’s obvious I’m a noob, but i do (mostly) understand scripts and code…I just don’t always know how to implement it all. Thanks for your help…

It’s ok, I will keep looking. I didn’t realize what I was asking for was in reality a whole new theme. I guess that’s the bad thing about stuff like this…newbies like myself might be able to do some things but we don’t understand the complexity involved in what appears to be a reasonable task. I trust you know far more than I do, so unfortunately I guess I’ll have to find another. Thanks for your help.

Ok, I know the slider can be moved to the header so the only thing there would be clearing the contents of the header. If the current objects can be put in there, can’t they likewise be removed?

I saw somewhere how to resize the slider so I know that can be done. As for the other slider “wants” I could live without those (I think I saw somewhere how to remove the buttons, I don’t remember).

Can’t a menu be placed in the header wherever you want it? I would assume so but I don’t know how to do it. I’ve seen them in footers, sidebars, etc. so I would think that could be done.

It’s a massive turnoff to have the first and only reply to my question basically tell me to go away and find another theme. That sucks, because this particular theme is great and it looks to me like the author has gone above and beyond trying to help people out with it, unlike TOO MANY other themes out there where the authors don’t care if you understand any of it or not. I regret not learning how to code, because the way it is now I’m at the mercy of whoever decides to help or hinder me and it sucks. I’ll wait another day for a better reply then I’m gone…no sense donating any money to the cause if I’m going to get the cold shoulder.

If it is not possible to put the logo inside the semi-transparent background of the slider, another option would be to remove the background, buttons and arrows from the slider and put a logo to the left of the slider, with both items together being centered in the header. I would be happy either way.

Actually it’s worse than what I wrote above…it removes the sidebar completely when viewed on an ipad. Just an FYI if nobody has noticed it yet…

I didn’t see the following post explaining this…sorry for the double post!

This works great, but you can’t use the “wider content area” setting…at least I can’t. Doing so makes the columns shorter and chops text off in the main column. BUT, it IS centered which is what I was looking for.

I came in to thank you for making my day a lot better!
