    Interesting. I’ve deleted it, but before I did so, it identified as a jpg in my wordpress media folder.
    The other pic (mountains) still shows as a jpg in my media folder AND online in the test placement I did on a live page.

    Anyway… I’ve run my course with Litespeed. I’ve installed a competitor and already the experience is as it should be. I’ve gone in circles for a couple months (off/on) trying to get answers from Litespeed and A2, to no avail.

    Thanks and cheers.

    The png image (above) is one that A2 placed in my images folder and worked with to try and turn into a webp. A2 also placed some jpg’s and was unsuccessful with them.

    The image below (mountains) is a test one I placed both in my images folder AND on a page (just to see if placing on a page made a difference — and it didn’t).

    @eric780217:: I’m using v6.2.0.1

    @eric780217: Yes, thanks. But it’s not working for me. It did work for months, but just arbitrarily stopped working. I’ve deleted and reinstalled LiteSpeed to see if that helps, but it doesn’t.

    @qtwrk: Well… this system apparently doesn’t allow us to attach an image? When I paste into this screen, it never completes a population into this box. When I choose the specific “image block,” it requires a url and I don’t have a specific url to my backend a 3rd party could access. Am I missing something here? It seems that we should be able to attach or paste an image in this system.

    @supervisor and @qtwrk,

    First, thanks for your time and advice.

    I’d already checked the boxes for the two cron functions. AND I’d already deactivated and thought I uninstalled WPOptimize and Autoptimize, but going back, I saw I hadn’t yet uninstalled them.

    I have uninstalled them, however before I did so, I checked my Media Images again in my main/parent page (christopherbabson.com) and they all showed up as webp (even though I hadn’t touched anything since last checking a few days ago, when I posted this question online).

    So, while, for some unknown reason, webp functions is now working in my main directory, and even though I’ve repeated all the same configuration steps I took in christopherbabson.com in my subdirectory courses.christopherbabson.com, AND I logged out and logged back into my subdirectory, the images in the subdirectory still remain only jpgs and aren’t converted to webp.

    Can you please think of any other possible reasons for webp not working in my subdirectory?

    Thanks!

    Chris

    Thanks again. I’ll check my A2 CPanel for errors. I’m running two different themes. My legacy theme I’ve used on my main page (for 10+) years is a paid SiteOrigin theme. On my subdomain, I’ve recently purchased Divi and will use that for my e-commerce subdomain, then migrate my entire website over to Divi in the near future. Thanks again. I’ll let you know the outcome. Cheers.

    Finally, when I click on “health check” from within the health-check plugin, I get the same error I’d mentioned at the beginning of this thread:

    There has been a critical error on this website.

    You know, an important thing I forgot to mention… I’d already disabled all plugins to see if that resolved my issue and allowed me to access/open the Site Health Screen, but it didn’t help at all.

    I’ve just opened your recommended plugin and it appears to me that that is basically the process it’s going to go through? If my previous deactivating of all plugins didn’t help, is there something the health-check plugin might find or do that a simple deactivation didn’t do?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks abletec. I’m downloading the plugin and will run it. I had (long ago I think) already deleted the Google Analytics plugin, so I guess what you see is historical/legacy coding.

    I’m reaching out to my host (A2) for a recommendation for someone to access my backend and totally clean up (and speed up) my website.

    Do you have any recommendations for expert companies who are 1) very good 2) very ethical and reliable 3) reasonably priced?

    Thanks again abletec.

    Thanks James. I’m closing this. I appreciate your help.

    James, tried your fix and it worked. Pretty simple, eh? It isn’t what someone else had me do years ago, but your fix certainly was obvious and effective.

    THANKS! Cheers.

    Thanks James. I’ll do that, but I don’t think that’s it. I haven’t ever changed anything in this screen, yet this happened suddenly and arbitrarily.

    It happened once before, some years ago, and someone had a quick fix, but I can’t remember what it was and don’t have my email thread to go to.

    Anyway… thanks.

    Hi Andre,

    Thanks, but Snipboard wants my credit card info to create a “free” account and I’m not going to give it to them.

    I’m trying to get rid of the WooCommerce default “Description” Header (that they, for some unintelligible reason duplicate) that appears on the link I provided above.

    The code Juan gave me didn’t change anything on the actual landing page.

    Cheers.

    Thanks Juan. I appreciate your time, but, unfortunately, that doesn’t work. I’ll check out the link you provided to see if there’s something more there that will work. Cheers.
