I can now access wp-admin … and I can see pages like mysite.com/deutsch/about … but if I go to the front page of that sub-site it hangs and won’t load anything.

I am having the exact same issue.

I was also forced into subdomain mode without being prompted for a selection. Then I switched “true” to “false” manually in wp-config.php, but the sub-directory sites still don’t work.

What exactly is the difference between the subdomain setup and the subdirectory setup? What else needs to be converted?

Ah, never mind. I had previously used the same directory name and it had an old WordPress installation sitting in it.

Super Admin => Sites => Edit => Permalink Structure => replace “blog” with something else
