Marcus,
Thanks for this. Now, is there any way for me to be able to mimic the <title> format that I’ve created with WordPress SEO? Basically, is there a way to add “:: [SITENAME]” to the end of each title tag for events pages? After implementing this fix, its just simply the page title.
So instead of: “Acoustic blues and roots jam”
Have it be: “Acoustic blues and roots jam :: [My Website Name]”Again, thank you for your help with this. We’re nearly there!
@marcus thanks so much for your reply on this matter.
I have not disabled the force rewrite option, I added your function and it didn’t seem to do anything :/ … the <title> tag for any single event page still inherits the title of the parent events listing page, “Events :: [SITENAME]”
In case it isn’t clear, I’m talking about the <meta> tags here, NOT the page titles that appear in the templates.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am unable to get this working too. Currently, on all single event pages, it just inherits the <title> tag of the events listing page (which in my case is just “events”). Is there anyway to get the <title> tags to behave in this manner: [EVENT NAME] :: Events :: [SITENAME]
I could really use some help with this … because if this can get sorted out then i can add things like share buttons to these single event pages.
Thanks!
Ah! You’ve done it again! Haha. I had all of the parent categories assigned as well. I changed it so the posts were only assigned to their “true” or deepest categories, like you said, and everything works perfectly.
Thanks so much for all of your help!
Ahh, I see what you mean. I implemented your fix, and it seems to have worked, thanks so much!
Strangely though, I’ve noticed that the only single post pages that display the entire breadcrumb path are posts filed under a third-level category within my “Music Reviews” category. Here is the category hierarchy I have set up…
– Featured (for front page slideshow items)
– Music
—- Music Interviews
—- Music News
—- Music Reviews
——– Albums
——– Concerts
——– EP’s
——– Singles– Film
—- Film Interviews
—- Film News
—- Film ReviewsPosts filed under second-level categories like “Film Interviews” or “Music News” do not display that category in the breadcrumb path, they simply display the parent category “Music” or “Film”.
Any ideas why this is happening? I can’t seem to figure it out :/
This only somewhat works. It works when you visit a category page that is deeply nested, but for single post pages the categories still appear backwards :/
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Bit.ly Shortlinks] [Plugin: Bit.ly Shortlinks] Error in headerPlug-in seems to work fine except for one thing:
In the new admin header introduced with WP 3.1, whenever I try to click the first option from the “Bit.ly” navigation item, the javascript prompt does not appear, and the page reloads instead. Any idea why this might be happening? Any help is appreciated.
