esmi: I should have been much more specific, perhaps, sorry. Yes. We already are using is_page() and is_single() to determine whether or not we’re on the page or blog post permalink. But, even those pages call the_title numerous times such as in navigation, footers, and sidebars on many themes.

What we’d like to figure out is to only call our action hook in our plugin only for the actual blog post title and content but not in the navigation, footer, or sidebar.

I’m having the same issue with both the browser uploader and the flash uploader. I’ve tried disabling all plugins too. (I don’t have the Scissors plugin)

Although I’m not being logged out during this process the flash uploader, and normal browser uploader, get “stuck” after the file is completely uploaded. Weird.

I’m now having this issue with WordPress 2.8. However my images are not uploaded (the original sizes). The folder is created, but the image is not uploaded.

Fixed. I replaced the xmlrpc.php file with one that I downloaded for www.ads-software.com and everything seems to be working now. I wish I had kept the old one so that I could have compared the two but on a whim I replaced the file and it worked. (Even after I compared their relative sizes and they were both the same.)

To give a bit more detail: I always update using the internal core updater. So I wonder if that doesn’t replace the file correctly, or at least didn’t in this case? I’m afraid I have more questions than answers.

I’ll try to do some digging after my vacation and update this thread accordingly. Thanks to everyone for all their help on this. It has been frustrating but as it is with many things, it was something simple and easily overlooked.

jb6262: I installed libxml patch plugin because it wasn’t working. As hard as I try to think of anything that I may have changed to make it stop working, I can’t think of anything.

josephscott: I deactivated all of my plugins. Same result.

To answer your question about whether or not I’m able to upload via the Media area in the WordPress admin, I am. I can upload when writing a post, in bulk, with no problems at all.

I have another WordPress blog on the same server at https://cdevroe.com/flip/ – It is a completely separate installation with its own set of plugins. I tried uploading there with the same result as my normal blog. I deactivated all plugins there also, and tried that.

This is definitely server related, it would seem, I just don’t know what to tell Dreamhost to update.

jb6262: I’m in discussions with Dreamhost support at the moment (via email). I’ll let you know what I’m able to figure out there.

Out of the box Dreamhost support WP fairly well (or at least they always have). They even have one-click installs (which I didn’t use) for it.

If you would like access to my FTP, WP-Admin, or anything else, please let me know and I’d be more than happy to give you access to these things in order to figure this out and potential help others that have or will run into this issue.

I want to give more information. It appears that the file uploads but is incomplete. Notice how this URL does not 404.

At this point I’ve dug into the code to the point where I don’t know what else to look at. The file is simply being corrupted (or is not being fully uploaded) somehow.

I finally had some time to try it on one of my WordPress.com blogs and it worked just fine. Sigh.

Any thoughts?

Plugin list: Advertising Manager, Akismet, LibXML2 Fix, Lightbox 2, Twitter for WordPress, Twitter Tools, Viddler WordPress plugin, Widon’t, WordPress.com Stats, WP-Footnotes, WP Super Cache

As far as I know none of these plugins directly effect posting. I do have a WordPress.com account and I will try that and let you know how it goes.

My host is Dreamhost. I’m not exactly sure what OS version they are using but I’m guessing it is a build of Linux.

Also of note: This worked great for some time and, one day, just stopped. That is why I was having a LibXML problem.
