Our stores are now displaying all English labels and not the needed Dutch (NL) translations for the woocommerce parts, we do not see any warnings and also no errors, but we just have the wrong language being displayed.

This is both for the backend and also for the website, so I’m not sure how to proceed

Just to add, we also have a site that only had the wordpress update and not yet the woocommerce and it seems that site also have the EN language issue. Does this mean it is inside the wordpress core? Do they have a separate forum to reach the developers in a new thread or does it still mean the fix would be in the Woocommerce plugin?

Yes we used the steps from the article you linked but the button as seen in the screenshot there just does not show. We reached out to Stripe first but the support agent we had in the chat told us that there is no way of seeing anything regarding the status of re-authentication on their end, neither would it be possible to see this status somewhere in our Stripe profile.

Thank you so much for your detailed and quick reply. I have updated the payment buttons to force a refresh of the settings but I still do not see the “Re-authenticate” button. Already did try to do a clean “connection” to a different stripe account we have. That account has been receiving iDeal payments for months from other websites so there is no issue there.

Still no button but my colleague who is out of office also tried some things. So now I’m also wondering how I will be able to see if a site is succesfully “re-authenticated”. Because I noticed from the sites that dit work that the button/section will disappear so how can I see if a site has successfully been re-authenticated?

Thank you for reaching out and the tips. We have two sites so far with this issue, some more sites with the same set up but the problem is that the issue only occurs on actual iDeal payments. Using the test-status of Stripe we are not able to reproduce after many test orders. Which – as far as I understand – would mean we need to pay the 0.29 stripe fee for each order we try to reproduce the error, that combined with the fact that only 1 in a bunch of orders displays this issue with the order status makes it difficult.

We have compared names / products / shipping methods / addresses and there is nothing standing out that the “failed order status update” have in common. Meaning we would need to do a multitude of payments to try and recreate the issue, having the 0.29 stripe fee each time. I hope you understand this is not really viable for us and we hope you and your team will be able to find the bug that is causing this. On the github we did get a reply from others experiencing the same issue.

Not sure how the github -thing works so I hope you don’t mind me asking here. So far we have not received any update or additional information regarding this issue. Is there a timeline for these sort of things or do you know if anybody is looking into this?

For now we can not risk to update to newer releases and we are hoping to get some more information soon.

Thank you @shameemreza – we have just created a bug report on Github. First time on that site so hopefully everything is okay and someone over there can help us out.

For now we have reverted back so we can process all orders but we would like to see the response / result of this because we have multiple sites that can not be updated now, since they might also start displaying the same bug.

So for #1 – we have the system log a couple of replies above this one. There is only the Stripe plugin for payment things. We do not have any other payment plugins, and the other payment methods we allow in this store are just the cash on delivery and cheque that woocommerce already has available within.

#2 this issue is only regarding a couple for the iDeal-payments. Many iDeal payments do have the status update correct.

#3 I will need to consult the restaurant owner if they are open to testing this with the legacy setting. We do have multiple complaints already because the customers are paying but they are not receiving their pizza’s / orders cause the order status is not correct so the order will not be started at the restaurant. So we are losing customers and have angry store owners right now. Is there any way we can simulate this with stripe test set up on a dev site?

We noticed this setting for the saving of cards on the Stripe plugin settings page in the backend. Would this be solved for now if we disable this checkbox? Or do you now which version of the stripe payments plugin does not have these issues so we can roll back?

Not sure if it is of any meaning but we just checked the 2 iDeal orders for this specific website before and after the “bug” order tonight. So 1 good iDeal – 1 status not updated iDeal – 1 good iDeal – is the rundown of the evening.

So for the bug order I just noticed this in our Stripe account that “set up for future off-session” part is for these 3 orders, only on the bug one. But we did not check any older / other orders for now, just wanted to inform you @shameemreza

After reading your reply we had updated the stripe plugin to the latest version. Tonight we had another repetition of order being paid at Stripe but status not updating from “awaiting payment” to “in progress”

We had another part for this order in the status logs with the “UPE”-thing.

Yes, all payment methods are working fine, only for the iDeal payments we have some orders that are not receiving the correct status update.

The account was fresh on Stripe so with new webhooks etc and it was from the start that most payments are okay but some were not. Last night we had another missed status update unfortunately. We will update the webhooks, but that would seem a bit strange to me as the site was just set up with “fresh” webhooks and it occurred right from the start

Hi there,

We just started a different woocommerce store on Stripe – they were on a different payment provider before and we hope to transfer all. But this other website has 3 occurrences of this issue within the last 3 days. Both stores have all same theme / plugins / etc as the other store , only sell different products but set up is same.

We already had a look at the available data, there are no “fatal errors” logged but we do have something we would like to share with you because it looks “interesting” from the file of our last failed order status update issue Logbestand?woocommerce-gateway-stripe-2024-05-28
