This new version solved all the problems we were seeing.

It’s not, unfortunately, but I’m starting to think it’s something strange with my web host.

I deleted my phpBB database once again and reinstalled phpBB, then performed a transfer. The same users that were failing before failed again (when i say ‘failed’, I mean cannot be managed in phpBB permissions), so I think there’s got to be something strange about their accounts. I think if it really were an issue with the transfer, it wouldn’t work with any users and it does with a few.

At this point I think I’m going to have my users manually create accounts to match those on our WP site.

What about the two users who didn’t get added to the phpbb_acl_users table? Any idea why that would happen?

Hah, I guess I did the transfer before I took the export after all ??

That’s kind of my point. Some of the users do not get inserted into the ACL table when the transfer is made.

Angelicca was the account I had the user create in phpBB, then I assigned it Administrator role in phpBB’s ACP. It’s not broken, so it doesn’t need to be fixed. I did notice that it created a duplicate (a second Angelicca user) in phpBB when I did a transfer (I did that after I sent you the dump).

Silvertoad and Camelfetish are two ID’s that are broken, and were transferred from WordPress.

Would it help if I sent you a wordpress dump as well?

If I have the users sign up manually, I can manage them without issue in phpBB. Even after doing a transfer from WordPress they can be managed successfully.

I’m using phpBB 3.1.8, by the way (not sure if I mentioned that).

Definitely something strange going on with the transfer.

File replaced again as instructed, transfer succeeded again, and again I can’t manage the same 3 users via phpBB’s “Users and Groups” tab.

Just to make sure everything’s default, I deleted all the tables in the phpBB database and reinstalled before performing this test, but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

For what it’s worth, I CAN choose to prune these users and it’s successful if I select them by their email address instead of user name.

I replaced the file and did another transfer, and it completed successfully as before. Still can’t manage those users, however ??

Something I noticed is they are all listed as having 1 post, when none of them have ever logged in to phpBB and there are currently no posts on the forum at all.

The users with the issue cannot be managed in phpBB admin. These users have varying WP roles (two are editors, one is an admin).

No errors listed while transferring, and this is a default installation of phpBB (I just did the install about an hour ago, in fact). I only transferred 20-maximum users (there are only 6 users registered in my WP site currently). Of those 6 users, 3 cannot be managed.

I’m not sure what could be causing this.

It’s very strange. Here’s how to see the error in action:

1.) Log in to the ACP, and click the “Users and Groups” tab
2.) click “Manage Users”
3.) Click “[Find a Member]”
4.) Choose a member using the “[Select]” link under their name.
5.) Click “Submit”

This works for about half the users I transfer, but fails for the rest. I’ve looked at the mysql _users table, and I can’t find any obvious differences for them, so I’m at a loss.

Sorry, that error was “The requested user does not exist”.
