Thanks for suggesting SubEthaEdit. I have downloaded it and will use it instead.

Each excerpt would be different because of course the subject matter is different for each of my posts. However, I wondered if it might cause problems re SEO or whatever if I went through my site and changed each excerpt individually approximately 55 times, one after the other.
