Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Author search field when creating postHi t-p,
Yes, I used the Toolset Types plugin to create the CPT.
I downloaded it from https://toolset.com/Thanks.
I’ve run into another problem when trying to install DesktopServer.
I’ve uninstalled WAMP, because it doesn’t work.
However, when running through the DesktopServer install I get to a point where it says:
It appears that you have another web server already running on port80.
DesktopServer cannot be installed. Check that you do not have Microsoft Internet Information Server or WAMP running. See ‘troubleshooting’ in our ‘How to Install DesktopServer’ guide via serverpress.com/downloads.Ideas?
Hi Luke,
It looks like I’d have to get the Premium version of DesktopServer to be able to use it with Duplicator, but I’ll give it a shot.
I tried creating a new user in the Duplicator installation process, but I got an error and the user wasn’t created.
Thanks.

In reply to: [WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Domain Mapping for subdirectoriesHi Alex,
I think i might have a DNS issue.
But, here are the 2 sites:
Main site: https://www.littledeer.ca/
Subdirectory/mapped site: https://www.swip.ca/

In reply to: [WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Domain Mapping for subdirectoriesI am still having major issues getting my subdirectory sites to map.
I have followed all the instructions to the T in George Lerner’s post.
The domain for the mapped site is pointing to the root of the main site.
However, when I enter the url for the mapped site, it redirects and to the goes to the url of the main site.
This is very frustrating especially since there doesn’t seem to be any other solution to domain mapping out there.

In reply to: [Polylang] Landing pages and Home pagesI am trying this, but it doesn’t seem to be working.
<a class=”brand logofont” href=”
<?php
if($currentlang==”en_CA”): {
echo esc_url( home_url( ‘/home’ ) );
}elseif($currentlang==”fr_FR”): {
echo esc_url( home_url( ‘/accueil’ ) );
}
?>/”>
Ideas?

In reply to: [Polylang] Landing pages and Home pagesThanks Chrystl,
I’ve asked the question to ben at Kadence Themes.

In reply to: [Polylang] Landing pages and Home pagesHi Chrystl,
Here’s what Ben had to say over at Kadence Themes:
Hey,
You would have to use a child theme. Edit the header and change the logo link to have a conditional php function. You need to ask polylang for that function but it would be something like if current language is this do this else to that.In your child theme you would have to edit line 16 of the templates/header.php file.
Ben
So what would that conditional php function be?

In reply to: [Polylang] Landing pages and Home pagesThe landing page is a page template of the Virtue Theme.

I created the page through the Pages menu just like any regular page and then told WordPress that it was the Static Front Page through the Readings Settings.
