Thanks vkaryl, I figured it was a silly question…and unfortunately it shows me a blank page in Firefox and IE redirects me to this.

I actually test the page by using the link from my cPanel and as I made the changes I refreshed the link.

But after I made the changes to the footer I still get this header error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /wp-content/themes/xxxxxx/404.php on line 1

Should I test the 404.php a different way, if so how should I go about testing it? I know a silly question.

Thanks alphaoide, I went ahead and changed those and now I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /wp-content/themes/xxxxxx/404.php on line 1

Thanks jd for your input I was not aware it included refreshes.

Does it matter if I use Wordpad OR Notepad….I had used Wordpad before?

Ok I ‘ll download, edit via Notepad. Yes I do have an FTP program ??

Ok I went through all the files that it gave the error locations for and I did what the FAQ said, I waited for the 15 seconds and still I’m getting the same errors?

I am editing the files through my cPanel, would this pose a problem? And how will I know when all of the spaces are cleaned up or deleted??

Sorry I’m a total novice at upgrading ??
