govpatel, tried that and it doesn’t work. i’m thinking about switching themes to weaver it seems to have more options and looks a lot better too… i just don’t want to mess anything up in doing so. twenty eleven seems to limited to me.

thanks cmegown… i read the info on the link but still am unsure of what to do to make the first page have a sidebar.

govpatel i only want two colunms on the front page and not on all the other and don’t understand “choose the one with sidebars” how do i do that for just one page?

thank you. i have the parent css file i changed on my computer, so can i just rename it and upload it, then i can deactivate the twenty eleven delete and then install again so it is the original… is this ok? i made so many changes before i knew i needed a child theme.

i guess that can be done…. but can’t i do what i suggested because don’t i need to have the parent theme for any updates?

i’m lost… the showcase template looks no different when i choose it compared to any other template. also where do i find the sticky post option?

do you know how to make the menu bar the same color in all browsers? like i said it shows green in ie, which is what i want and shows black in all other browsers.

i’ll work on a child theme since i’ve already done a lot of editing in the parent theme. thanks for the info
