  • I used the auto upgrade and I get the same error message as danceofvictory. Can’t access anything with the web interface. Strange because the auto upgrade to 2.8 worked fine on another blog I maintain.

    Any suggestions besides reverting?

    I solved another issue here:

and when I fixed all the not published items (which had to be done by hand), the dashboard was repaired as well!

    Finally solved it.

I had merged a TypePad blog (by the same name) with this one. I migrated the posts in April of this year. When I finally figured out that things seemed to stop working at a certain date (February for some reason), I went to Manage > Posts, and started working my way backwards.

What I found was that the status of numerous entries were missing. There was no Published status. Opening the post for editing showed Published on the top right, but the Save and Publish buttons were both available. If the post was really published already, there would only be a save button available.

So, clicking on the Publish button fixed the issue. Now if I go to a post that has been fixed, the permalink works fine even if I’m not logged in.

Of course, now I have to review posts going back to 2005. Thank goodness I wasn’t a daily poster.

    Hope this helps someone else.

Forgot to mention, I’m running 2.5.1

I have replaced the wp-admin and wp-includes folders as if I were upgrading and that did change what shows up on the dashboard to:

You have 1 page, contained within 19 categories and 57 tags.

So the posts are still missing. I just can’t seem to locate where the missing variable for posts is located.

I figured out what is happening though have no idea why. OK, here`s what I got – I can get it to schedule if the future time for the post is after the present hour. If it is 15:14 now it will not schedule unless I enter the time for the post for anytime after 16:00. It will not schedule if I set the time for 15:18, 15:29, etc. I usually future post for hours or days ahead so do not see this as an immediate problem but is this normal?

Just a guess Ted, but are you sure your WordPress time is the same as your computer’s. I don’t think WP changes for daylight saving time.

I upgraded to version 2.2, and the spellchecker still gives the AJAX error.

I upgaded recently and am using 2.1.3. I get the error message:

Could not execute AJAX call, server didn't return a valid XML.

The Firefox spell checker seems to function, but the Mac system checker does not.

Anyone know in what version this will be resolved?
