Hi to anyone reading this thread,
I want to say that Md. Asraful Islam was very helpful in solving the problem. If you have a technical problem I recommend you contact him. I paid him through Paypal for his work in solving this. I gave him my login to my wordpress blog. He solved it quickly and I am thankful for that. I have saved his contact so if I have a problem in the future I can contact him.

You can share to me your website URL and access.

I’d be willing to talk to you about fixing this. Not sure how to contact you? Do you have an email? Or contact? I don’t know how to contact through www.ads-software.com. Thanks.

So I tried exporting and importing the posts, to see if that helped, it did not.

I tried adding myself as an additional editor to see whether I could edit the posts as a different editor, but it won’t let me create a password, so I can’t add another editor.

The blog is broken and I don’t know how to fix it. I may have to abandon it unless I can find an answer as I have tried all I know to do. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

    I also cannot edit images.

Here is a short video. https://www.screencast.com/t/spHCfTC0BT8M

Hi, thanks for the information. However, when I tried to click on the blocks to “play around” and see if I could figure it out, nothing would change onscreen. It was easier
for me to backtrack to familiar territory that I know how to work. But thanks for letting me know they know about that glitch. It is hard to learn new things.

The problem I had after installation is that when I tried to make an active link, I would highlight what I wanted to link to, hit link, the link box would come up, I would add the link, I would click “open in new window” and when I saved the link, the link did not save, the link box jumped to the top of the post and stayed there and or floated around the post. I tried to redo the link and could not. I had to exit out of the website, tried again in a new incognito window, and it still happened. I also lost an image in the process of all this.

I had to downgrade to the classic where I was able to successfully add a link as I used to do, without problem. Please do not expire the classic version in 2022. It needs to be there as a backup for glitches. At least always have a backup plugin or something. It is not possible for us to call you on the phone, tell you about a problem, and you walk us through fixing it. We need a backup way to fix these problems. Thank you.

I don’t know how to backup. The suggestion to backup presumes that people have the technical knowledge to know how to do that. I don’t know where a backup goes or what to do with it if it did get backup-ed. WordPress should realize that not everyone that uses their service has technical coding ability. I will say I did find the posts and other things, like links, most recent posts, etc., but it had switched to the equivalent of an about page. I can’t switch it back. Don’t know how. Personally, it was working fine before. I had no problems. I don’t know why we have to keep going to new upgrades of WordPress, particularly when the bugs are not worked out. If someone wants the new, fine, but why did we all have to upgrade? Now it’s lots of extra work or me, or perhaps I lose it all. I would be happy to downgrade back, if that would fix it.

I find that 4.0 has switched my home page and my about page. Everything that used to be viewable from the home page is now viewable from the about page. I need someone to fix this. I’d rather not use your updates if their ruin months of work.

Please someone answer asap or some tech from WordPress contact me and put in my back office the link to go back to the old version and I will “update” backwards to the older version. Please help!
