Thanks for the explanation on how Cloudinary sets the identifier. As I confronted the editor regarding this, it seems this was indeed the case. It seems I have some file name cleanup to do before activating the plugin again.

That’s the thing. As I quickly unlinked the plugin from the site out of panic, I have no way of confirming that now. I now cannot recall what are the exact images that were swapped. There is certainly a possibility that the file names were similar, because the editor was not instructed to make them unique.
Technically, would it cause this type of behavior if the file names are similar?

Actually I had the plugin deactivated because I couldn’t get it to work as expected. Weirdly enough, when I tried to implement it now using the form builder within the plugin, it worked. I can successfully send and receive double opt-in emails now.

I asked my host whether ModSecurity is activated and the response was as follows.
Yes, it is enabled and unfortunately, it cannot be changed since WordPress users are always opening backdoors to the server. As an example, please find the mod security violations below;

Then I tried deactivating my first 3 plugins and setting up. After allowing the permissions, I was directed to my blog again. But this time, it throws a “Server taking too long to respond” error. I cannot access my site back-end or front-end, and the FTP connection to my server is not working either.
So I think I fell into a worse position than I was in. I’d really appreciate if you can let me know if you got any clue why this happened, while I try to calm down the client. Thanks!
