Have you tried to disable all plugins, except for WooCommerce to verify if it persists? How does it go?
Also, the system status report can help us to diagnose it a bit better.
Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status?
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?
Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. ?
The best way to determine this is to:
- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
- Repeat the action that is causing the problem
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.
To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict.

Can you give a conflict test a try, please? I am asking this because it may be caused by a theme or another plugin.

I am not sure if I am following you correctly, but just to clarify it a bit, your theme might add a bit of code into your functions.php, depending on its needs, like when adding a new widget area, or just enqueueing your stylesheet!
So, that said, if you want a fresh start, you can reach out directly to your hosting company, to ask them for it, and then install WooCommerce and Storefront as a theme may be a good start.

Usually, this is caused by some conflict, a plugin, or either a theme.
What you can do is isolate your entire environment, to see when this problem happens.
– Change your theme to a default theme like Storefront;
– Disable all plugins except WooCommerce;
– Also add a value in your Hold stock option, it can be the default of 60;Under those conditions, place a test order. If the problem doesn’t happen, then it is caused by a conflict.
The next step would be to re-enable plugins one by one and make a test order each time until you find the piece of software responsible for this behavior.

If so, you can try to search for a plugin that hooks inside the admin area to add some CSS to them, and then you can add something like this:

To help get to the bottom of this we’re going to need a few more details.
– Are these orders being changed from completed to cancel or vice-versa?
– Are you managing your stock? and there are items in stock?
– The Hold Stock timeout (WooCommerce > Settings > Product > Inventory > Hold Stock) is applied to orders in the Pending status. When this limit is reached, the pending orders will be canceled.Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?
