hey vkaryl…not sure if this would work, but if you can run multipul WPs from one DB you should be able ta run 1 WP with multiple DBs.

If he cant get it figured maybe he can set up a new DB and modify his configure file so all the info would be instantly set up into 2 DBs…one (the old one) as a remote mysql. Then when its all safe the old DB info in the confige file could be removed.

I have no idea if that would work…maybe someone that has messed with the confige file more cold set me stright or post the mod for it that would work.

not realy sure what your doin wrong, but in your configure file for the WP your user name should look something like this…

myusername_WP_3

not just your user name part, but the whole user name.

might help ya…kinda sounds like that may be it.

Thats actualy pretty cool man…I have 4 sports cms portals runnin and am realy considering switching them all to WP just because of the simplisity of it. Gona be a BIG job though if I realy wana do it.

Some discussion forums would be a cool thing for your site man.

There are so many vereables that can screw ya or help ya…I meen if 95% of those back links start with www. and the other 5% don’t that could bring ya down a bit…or havin redirects that are less that 3 seconds or a back link from a porn site or realy bad site…there are so many things ta worry about when all ya realy need is awsome content thats spacific to the topic and 1 back link ??

The programers of the indexers know all the little tricks out there and will drop ya down a notch or three if the indexer finds something that even resembles a sceme…even if it is unintentional.

Best bet is to forget about PR and just build your awsome site the way you want keeping in mind useability and stability. Then just optimize it best ya can to help the search engines do there job right…then they will help you. Second ya thing your gona fool them…your gone.

With a site as popular as yours…you gota watch whats linking to yours…they could bring ya down.

Please note though…this is only my opinion…NOBODY but the indexer programers truly know how the ranking is goin on…its top secret right ?? last thing they need is every one knowin it all.

Best just to be ethical with your optimizing and understand the things that scare an indexer and avoid them.

You looked at my site after it has only been up for about 2 weeks man…its only 65% complete and I can only jump on it for a few seconds here and there per day. My 1st priorety for my site was to knock the band chillbilly outa top spot just to entertain my self cuz they stole my name….did that after 1 week.

Ya can’t look at my site as an example till I have completed it…take another look in 5 week man.

back links to a site and the age is only a small factor in ranking a site.

Ya remember that search engines have a job to do…they need to bring up the best results for a query…that is by far their TOP priorety…it makes them look good. Content that is optimized and full of relevent key “phrases” Is the 1st and best step in helping the engines do their job…if you help them…they will help you. If you just stick in a buncha cool back links to your site…all they will do is follow those links then READ YOUR CONTENT!

And getting a site in top spot in just a few weeks…I can doit and I have done it numerous times…and not just lame sites with crapy content popularety…shit…my soccer set up is only 75% complete and luanched in november…soccer is by far the most popular sport on the planet…query “soccer forums” and you’ll find me ??

give it a few more months and me getting the site complete then see what happens.

Don’t know if it is interesting to you, but I’m usein mine for a few things in one. Only 65% completed though…I’m too busy doin other stuff ta truly focus on it.

Mainly it is for search engine optimizing and a bit of web design, but I have placed all the SEO and design stuff in the side bar and loaded the main posts or blog catagories with ridiculous stories…the idea being that I can SEO this site for the SEO and Design, but by stickin in a ton of completly unrelated content I can pull in a masive veriety of other users…not just poeple lookin for the optimizing stuff…sort of like leading people to a store that they didn’t expect to be in yet they still get what they want and i can sell my wares to ten times as many people at the same time. Or the opisite could happen…they could come in for optmizing and end up getting entertained.

Ive also thrown up a page with names and short discroptions of people from my past so when they eventualy run a query on there names…they find my site.

It is so roughly set up right now, but if ya looked at it and understood my diabilical idea…you may think its pretty frikin cool…or at least potentialy cool if I can actualy get it done!!!

Gona be setting up one for my moms fan fiction stuff too…its all ready ta go…just need time.

if your wonderin…I tryed a different set up thats more SE friendly…I didn’t finish it or test it, but I got the idea down.

I tryed useing just frames…it has the same problem of the user gettin linked to a page, but outa the frames, but I have a javaScript that pulls the page and the user into the mainframe on the main page.

Problem then was the Jscript would need to be included on every page within the WP and each directory that has an index.php would also need a copy of the index.html frame set from the main page.

I don’t know too much about Jscript programing, but im betting someone can figure out how to not need the copy of the frame set in each directory.

put in the entire path to the index.php…I had the same problem the other day when I was messin around with Iframes ta check out the effect.

Decided not to use the iframe becuase search engine indexers will pull content onto the results page with a link going to a page within the WP…when that link is followed the user ends up on the page, but the page is not in the iframe.

IF it’s the other guy your talkin about…well…I bet he just has a cool Idea and would like his stuff to start high.

Thing he needs to remember though…he could have the greatest PR around, but if his site content stinks it won’t do a bita good…slowley but surely over a few weeks…his site will move it’s way down till it’s gone forever right.

probably not what your lookin for, but I just set up a nice template in a html editor so when ever I need ta make a post I just add to the template and then post it.

probably a better way though.

google sticks most sites in their “sandbox” for a year or more…they don’t admit that it exists, but alota people know it does.

Don’t even worry about page rank…just optimize ??

I’ve also noticed after reading a thread in here about robots hitting like crazy that My WP is getting bombarded like frikin mad!

I got a funny feeling it has to do with the fact that it is WP that I am useing…I bet they have set up the indexers to hit blogs way more often becuase they tend to get updated fast.

All my other sites are the same right now, but My WP has been up for only a coupla weeks and its getting hit 10-15 times more.

this guy wants a site thats up hi so he doesn’t have to do any work…but i gota say..i think he should save his money and just optimize and have good content cuase these WP blogs get hit like crazy.
