In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Unwanted 301 RedirectHello again,
I’ve had no luck with clearing my server cache. I’m hosted on an nginx server, so I don’t have an .htaccess file, as far as I’m aware.
I have a brand new wordpress site, https://netforge.design, that came pre-installed with Yoast from EasyWP. It seem the issue is happening on that site as well, even after disable and deleting the plugin.
I’m personally at a loss in regards to what I should do. Any further advice would be appreciated.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Unwanted 301 RedirectHi Priscilla,
Thanks so much for the swift response.
I disabled all plugins, reset the cache, but the redirect was still active.
After that, I switched to the Twenty Twenty-One theme, but the redirect persisted.I also tried to use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, but Troubleshooting mode was unable to activate for some vague reason.
I’ll get in contact with my hosting service now to see if they can clear the server cache. I don’t use any CDN service so I’m not fully sure what else to do at this point.
Ah, yes I see the sitemap in the location you described.
I got in touch with my hosting company. They tried the rule with no luck.
I believe all that’s necessary to use the plugin is to get rid of the redirect from https://neweden.news/sitemap.xml –> https://neweden.news/sitemap-index.xml that was left in place by Yoast.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to do this. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi Nithin,
It doesn’t look like there’s a sitemap_index.xml physically present in the root directory.
I changed the default permalink settings to “Post name” and clicked save changes, but with no success. It’s still telling me that the sitemap is location at */sitemap.xml, even though it’s nowhere to be seen in the directory.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can try!
