    My workaround solution:
I’ve duplicated both front pages, set them up as front pages and it worked that way.

    Update:

I’ve duplicated my English front page (“Home”) and named it Home2, I’ve set the duplicated page as a new English front page, changed the Polish front page (“Strona glowna”) translation from Home to Home2.

Now when I edit Home2 I see the right permalink (maindomain.info) there but it still redirects to abc.server.pl/wp2 which gives 404 error. However after these changes Polish translation of the front page both have a right permalink in edit (maindomain.info/pl) and it works under that permalink.

Any idea why there still is a problem with English front page? Why does the maindomain.info redirects to abc.server.pl/wp2 despite the permalink in edit of that page is right?

    Update:

    1. I’ve redirected my main domain to folder wp2.
    2. I’ve changed both addresses in WordPress admin (Site Address (URL) and WordPress Address (URL)

Now my only issue is that front pages for both my languages did not change, nor the links leading to them (eg. logo directing to old permalink of a front page). All the other subpages work fine within the main domain.

Any idea why front pages permalinks did not change to main domain and how to fix it? Could it be some plugin fault (eg. Yoast, Polylang)?

I have a domain which now is directing to folder wp1 on my hosting (old WordPress website) and want to redirect it to my new WordPress website in folder wp2. I know how to redirect the domain itself, I’m just asking for the WordPress part of the work that should be done.

    UPDATE:
I’ve been able to fix the logo problem with installing suggested Virtue/Ascend/Pinnacle Toolkit plugin and reuploading logos there.

Hi, I’m having the same problem, my main logo (uploaded one is black) overrides the transparent logo (the uploaded one is white).

Here’s the link to the page I’m developing: https://crystal.nazwa.pl/wp2/

I have the follow-up. As recommended by server admin I’ve created a separate folder for existing website. I’ve changed the WordPress Address (URL) in settings, moved my files from root to that folder, redirected my main domain to that folder and ended up with only one minor issue to solve. I’ll be developing a new web in a separate folder now and when the time will come, I’ll redirect my main domain to that folder. Thank you for support.

Thank you for your answer, I’ll contact hosting provider to get more info on subdomains.

I’m planning on building a completely new WP website and then redirecting my main domain to that location on the server. As for the link which you provided, isn’t that the instruction on how to move the existing site to another location on the server – a different thing than what I intend to do?

Hello, I’ve finally could try the purposed solution but with no luck. Although it doesn’t harm the website as it is, implementing any changes became really hard-to-impossible (eg. changing quantity of Metaboxes, can’t add new ones as I can’t see any sliders – https://ibb.co/mTcRDDs; editing a form in Formidable Forms plugin – https://ibb.co/jfc22fk).
