Same here. 1656 posts, the process blocks on the 127th element …

Got it work :
1) Split the XML in two parts. In the first one put all tags and items other than posts. In the second file put all posts
2) Use the following code for both files:

<rss version="2.0" xmlns:excerpt="https://www.ads-software.com/export/1.2/excerpt/" xmlns:content="https://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:wfw="https://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/" xmlns:dc="https://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:wp="https://www.ads-software.com/export/1.2/">
  <channel>
  <wp:wxr_version>1.2</wp:wxr_version>
*** Put here your data ***
  </channel>
</rss>

3) Load the first file
4) Load the second file

Images have not been loaded for all posts ?? But at least i have my posts !

I tried using a gzip file (made under Mac Os) and still the same issue ??

Files are not deleted but moved like nchaud explained in the folder WUFC_moved_files

Found it. It’s an issue with the load of DynaTree scripts. They are in conflict with jQuery WordPress files.

I use it on my wife’s blog. No missing files detected (yet). And i saved 69Mo for 2940 files !

PS: even if you run the script files are not deleted but only moved in one subfolder of uploads using the same structure than the WP uploads so it’s really easy to restore files

What do you by ‘Gallery’ ? A slider ?

The plugin searches in pages and posts for links to the files. I will update the plugin to search relation in the database.
Were you able to restore files from the saved folder ?
