See below, I was able to set an image or in this case a video as background for Template > Group > Cover.
But I would like it to be also behind Template > Header (Logo and Navi) which seems to have no shared container to define a common background at least not trough the Block Site Editor interface?

As written above I will avoid any unnecessary (Block) plugin at least on the main (uncommercial) WP sites I manage. I did not need Spectra WGB for a specific feature, it was just curiosity to test advanced Blocks. Maybe I will install and test again on strict Test WP sites.

    Regarding the leftover class:
I would understand if this was the case only for the blocks introduced by Spectra, but I did not expect this for “standard” blocks like headlines and images. This builds a dependence like from Elementor I’m seeking to avoid when installing content layout plugins. I need to investigate this further if I need to stay just with core functionality.

I had a look at the Roadmap:

“Currently, work is being completed on Phase 2 of the Gutenberg project, and Phase 3 (Collaboration) is starting in 2023.”

So hopefully Customization and Collaboration will progress in 2023 to a point that Phase 4 ML Core implementation will be on the horizon for 2024. I think that will be a major leap for WP giving the possibility to run a site (almost) with no plugins based mainly on core functions.

I read before about WP core ML plans but the info by Justin Tadlock is indeed helpful for upcoming projects despite I would have hoped to already adopt core ML next year.

    Similar problem under this setup:
    PHP 8.0.13 + WordPress 5.9 Multisite
Fast Velocity Minify 3.2.6 + WP Super Cache 1.7.7

On two multsite instances with the same Theme/CSS files (same website in two languages) with FVM activated one works while on the other the CSS seems to be not used at all in the browser.
As soon as FVM is deactivated both sites work.
In the latest setup is FVM expected to support multisites with the same theme?

Almost the same here under this setup:
PHP 8.0.13, WordPress 5.9 with OnePress theme
SVG Support 2.4.2, Fast Velocity Minify 3.2.6, WP Super Cache 1.7.7

I do not know since when exactly (update of PHP, WP and plugins was done lately) but the site main logo controlled by the theme customizer was not shown anymore (frontend, backend) when SVG Support 2.4.2 was active. When deactivated the logo is shown. Other SVG images included by code in the footer area continued to work in both cases.
So is SVG Support plugin not needed anymore with WP 5.9 or might this be a cache problem?

Thank you. I did not test VSKB, just saw it listed as a Wiki-Plugin for WordPress. I will look if a footnote plugin will be the solution or just writing the text in a Textsoftware with Zotpress Citation functionality and then copy and paste will be best way for my case.

Like Footnotes similar to this: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Cite

    Thx David,
I use Zotero and Zotpress would be a Plugin supporting Javascript/Ajax on-the-fly creation. I would be more interested in a in-page static saving with possibility to update. So maybe I will just write the Page content in Google Docs or Libre Office with using Zotero and then copy and paste to WordPress. Need to try.

I’m seeking for a similar solution: fast static citations/bibliographies that update only periodically (automatic maybe by cronjob) or by manual interaction in the plugin page.
So that would be inclusion into the inline HTML code without Javascript/AJAX dependency. It seems there is no solution for this in the WordPress universe and only manual editing remains?
A solution by a Cache plugin seems not a good workaround for me (see linked closed forum thread).

I’m sorry I do not have discord.
I will try to look how Polylang saves the Customizer translations managed by “Add Polylang support for Customizer” but since I’m not experienced with the mySQL stuff I might not be able to understand much. Maybe there is some third-party plugin or tool to view and edit the Polylang database entries.

I will also look into this Plugin if it can handel Customizer fields translations: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/duplicate-content-addon-for-polylang/

    4) Nav-Menu is under Customizer and by creating a new one for each secondary language I was able to resolve this. Was just thinking the primary language menu would be “translated” instead of creating independent new secondary language menus.

    2) and 3) concerns the primary/secondary language content of Custom Sections managed by the theme and Polylang + “Add Polylang support for Customizer” for example under /wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php%3Fpost_type%3Dpage&lang=en

So I think having the option to “re-copy” content from primary to secondary languages like when the secondary languages are created would be a very useful feature. I don’t know if deactivating and activating the plugin achieves this (need to test more), probably not because the secondary language data will remain in the WP-database?

EDIT: I just deactivated “Add Polylang support for Customizer” and reactivated. Secondary Languages Content remained. So unless there is an easy way to delete the data it seems important to finish the Customizer theme content setup (layout, images, text) in the primary language before activating the Plugin. I’m not a PHP coder and mariaDB insider so for now I seem stuck.

Ok thanks. Since I need also Theme Frontpage Section Translation (in Customizer) I’m currently trying Polylang + “Add Polylang support for Customizer” with one main and two secondary languages.
Seems more straightforward for ML Landing/Funnel Pages on Custom Subdomains, especially since I want automatic redirection by the browser language which works.
If the Landing/Funnel Pages would be on the language subdomains of the primary homepage I may have tried otherwise with MLS.

    I think I found a solution to 1):
under /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page&lang=en (EN is a secondary language) this can be changed with QuickEdit, but not when directly editing the page under permalink (only the link is shown, no editing).
So you can change to a new page URL /en/NEWSLUG

For example I would like to know if it is possible to let subscribers pick from one of the following presets for delivery frequency and set one of them as standard:
    – 4 times / year (every 3 months)
    – 6 times / year (every 2 months)
    – 8 times / year (every 45 days)
    – 12 times / year (every month)
    – 24 times / year (every 15 days)
