In reply to: [FB Social Reader Beta] Widget Sometimes Shows Up, Sometimes NotHi Zumby,
Apologies for the delay in getting this out there. We’ve come to the view that the original social reader plugin is not viable anymore, so I’m In the process of developing a different plugin based on similar concepts.
We’re not ready for beta yet, but you can sign up here: https://tryonsocial.com. Should be a few weeks and then we’ll call on you.
Thanks
Chris

In reply to: [FB Social Reader Beta] Widget Sometimes Shows Up, Sometimes NotHi Zumby,
Thanks for the compliment. I’ve actually just started working on this again this week and I’m looking to release a newer version with all the bugs fixed in a couple of weeks. For free.
Thanks
Hi drjohndimi,
Thanks very much for your message and your compliments on the plugin. Truth be told, I parked this project a while back as I was working ridiculous hours and simply didn’t have the time to work on it properly. Martin, this is the same reason I made the plugin free.
Your message has prompted me to take another look at this. Since I wrote it I’ve gained a huge amount of business and programming experience so the plugin should be significantly improved in the next update.
I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks
Chris

In reply to: Use requirejs modules to localize scripts instead of global variablesYou only need wp_localize_script if you’re using ajax with WordPress, although in practice all that function does in my experience is creates a global with a URL to the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file. There’s no reason why you can’t go and create this global privately in a requirejs script and remove wp_localize_script from your php file.
Hi Martin,
This will definitely be fixed in the latest version.
Hi Martin,

In reply to: [FB Open Graph Actions (moved)] [Plugin: FB Open Graph Actions] ERRORYou have to read at least one article and get it to share to your Facebook timeline before trying to submit the app for approval. Once you’ve done that, you won’t see the error.
Hi Janolima,
It is possible to do this, but this is not something this plugin offers. You’ll need to do some web development work here to get this to work.
In brief, what you’ll need to do is query the Facebook API to see if the user is logged in on your site, and if so, show the site’s content. If not, prompt for login. It’s not too difficult, but you’ll need a web developer for it.
Chris
Hi Devplus, are you using the most up to date version of the plugin? This was an issue with older versions.

In reply to: [FB Open Graph Actions (moved)] [Plugin: FB Open Graph Actions] Custom CSSHi Matt,
The best way to do it is to edit style.css in the plugin directory and make a backup of what you’ve done. Then when the plugin updates, copy the code you changed, and add it to the new stylesheet. That way you’ll keep your edits while getting the new goodies too.
Chris
Hi Panka, sorry for the delay in replying. Do you mean so people can stop using your app? They can already do this by disabling the app in their facebook settings.
