wp-config.php was corrupt, after replacing site is functioning properly now.

Resolved. The issue was a corrupt wp-config.php file

Thanks WPyogi, I had checked the files and couldn’t find any issues. I replaced all wordpress files with a fresh copy from a new download of wordpress files minus the wp-config.php and still the same issues. So I just replaced that file with a new copy with my database credentials and TADA!! It worked. The biggest annoyance is that WP was telling me the error was with the functions.php when in fact it was the wp-config,php that was causing the problem. Anyways thanks for suggesting it as it made me double check everything again and all is well now.

Hi Esmi, I’ve having the same issue as mentioned above. I have followed all procedures above and and still having the same issue. I’m not sure to go from here other than starting over again and rebuilding the entire site.

Any other suggestions?

I’ve enabled debugging for the site but I’m not really clear what the errors I’m seeing mean. I checked for extra lines in the files mentioned in the help file for “Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by ” don’t notice anything.

My only thought is that it might be related to WP Better Security but I was hoping someone might help me narrow it down before I post in their support forum.

Hi BVRamanarao, I seem to be having the same issue as noted above. I think I have tried everything as suggested above but I still can’t log in to my site. If I attempt to login from /wp-login.php, the page just reloads with no errors, nor does it log me in.

If I attempt the lost password link and submit the email address I am redirected to a 404 page not found error page for my site.

Is there anything else you might suggest.
