I have been looking for something similar for sometime now: a really good Business Directory working on my sites, without typing in lots of info myself and/or creating separate databases.

Then it struck me that if the users profile page could be tweaked then it could form the basis for a business directory. The are some plugin out there that offer extra fields such as user Photo etc. If fields could be added for categories all that would need to be done would to be able to display (somehow??) these businesses by category and….Hey Presto! A business directory! These businesses can then be emailed etc using various other plugins

I hope I am making sense? No one has seem to have done anything like this yet. I am wondering why? Am I missing something?

I had similar problem with http error requests timed out after 5 seconds.

The answer, I found was quite simple. Do not use the plugin. Just paste the code into the WordPress page you want to use. One less plug-in, less code more speed!

Used google multiple calendar helper to combine four calendars into one.

Its so easy to customise calendars in the google calendar page there seems little use for this plug in.

I’ve had the same host for some time. Did get my host to change permissions this is where the problem may lie? But not sure.
I am thinking of changing to a WordPress friendly host with regular backups so I can avoid these problems.

Also when trying to add plug-ins automatically I get the following error message:

Could not create directory. /htdocs

How can I uninstall the Deep Link Engine completely?

If you have never activated it, or you don’t have links created by DLE, there is nothing you need to do except to manually deactivate plug-in and delete it. If you already have links and references to pingbacks created by DLE, make sure plug-in is still active, then go to DLE options and click on “Perform Verify”. In the new window click on “Remove links completely” checkbox and select all blogs in the list, click “Process”. After processing has finished, no trace of DLE will be left on your blogs so you can deactivate and delete plug-in.

They are still there , in every theme! From searching the forums it seems many people are having same problem. There is no documentation and my emails are bouncing back from their webmaster! IS this a scam??

I really think WordPress should take this off their pug in page. It seems like a scam to me. I cannot remove “related blogs” section from any of my posts now.
No documentation or contact details ot follow up!!!!

I’m having exactly the same problem. Installed Deep Link Engine. Now I have a list of totally unrelated blogs under a ‘Related Blogs’ heading

It was my Redirection plug-in for 301 redirects and monitoring 404 errors.

Now my final question (I’ve tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it). Should I live without it?
