Because by default when you first install the plugin the Lightbox → General is set to “Foo Gallery Lightbox”, and others like me might get confused.

This way I can send my clients to that documentation page and they will know how to properly have a gallery link to external URLs.

Also I am suggesting that so you can reduce support tickets.

that does not work because there is no foogallery –> Lightbox in the free version that I am using

FooGallery version : 2.4.30
WordPress version : 6.7.2
Activated Theme : Spacious

No, I installed this on a fresh test site and having an external link to a web page does not work.

I did clear the caches ” FooGallery -> Settings -> General and then clear the HTML and CSS cache. Secondly, ensure that if you have any plugins with a caching feature, kindly ensure that the caching is cleared after the update.”

I don’t have any other caching plugin.

Then i deactivated the plugin and activated it again. still not working.

there are 3 thumbnails. 2 go to a webpage, and the photo of me just goes to the larger image.

I think that the plugin thinks the URL is an image and it’s trying to display it.

Mine is not working either. Clicking on a thumbnail to open in a custom URL as described here:

Thank you for responding to me and letting me know. While I am dissapointed that you won’t set the display per page to blank, and that I have to manually do it myself, I understand the need for you to make adjustments to the plugin. I have a lot of post grids.

However, I do LOVE this plugin so much!!

I might have updated the post/page via my iphone, I don’t use the WordPress mobile app. I do use the classic editor and the divi page builder.

I will have to do some more tests, because sometimes my fix works and sometimes it does not. I’ll let you know.
but I am super happy to know that the feature is built in!

Oh I thought my last post was clear.

here is what I did, I found the page where it wasn’t working. I edited the page and made a slight text edit to the page (any slight change. Like adding another sentence).
Then I just saved the page.

That somehow triggered FV player to pull in the featured image.

and it worked!

I didn’t really do anything except save my page again, I didn’t touch or change anything with FV player.

UPDATE: I found the solution!

I just need to go into the page, make a slight adjustment, and save the page again and fv player is now picking up the splash image for the featured image.

Well in my case I WANT fv player to use the splash image for the featured image but it’s not picking it up.

currently I have pages that do not have the featured image set, but FV player is not picking up the splash image I set in the shortcode.

Here is an example of the code I am using (note it’s a private members are so I can’t show the actual file names)

what do I need to do to tell FV player to pick up that image for the feature image?

I was also having some problems embedding a YouTube video on a Sydney free theme site. It was leaving a big white space

however, I found a really easy solution in that I’m using this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/youtube-embed-plus/ and it now works great!

@ivanjacek go ahead and try that and see if it works. I always have facade mode turned on for the settings for the YouTube plugin
