I will need to update my theme before I can upgrade to PHP 7.2. Hopefully this resolves my issue.

I tried re-installing the plugin and it now says it cannot obtain an authorization token from Google (which I already knew but the message wasn’t there before.)

I re-assigned my test user to an Editor role, and gave them the same access and the login worked just fine. My Staff role was obviously messed up somehow.

I’m using a custom role called “Staff”, which I created using the White Label Branding plugin. I deactivated that plugin while I configure the menus with AME, but I felt like it could still be interfering so I went ahead and deleted it since I wasn’t using it yet (other than to create the Staff user role). After deleting the plugin, the Staff role is still available though.

I did try to redirect the Dashboard to the Events menu using the AME plugin, but it gave me an error after logging in, so I went back and selected “undo changes” to reverse that.

I’m afraid my Staff role may be the source of the problem somehow. I’m also curious to know what is causing the redirect.

I didn’t think that explanation made sense, but I wasn’t sure. There was a language barrier too, so that made clarifying things more difficult.

Anyway, thank you for your quick replies here! I have another question related to the plugin, but I will open a new ticket for easier maintenance.

After speaking to my host I realized that they blacklisted my ip because, according to them, “my password was too weak and they thought my login was an attempted brute force attack”.

My password consisted of capital & lower case letters, special characters, and numbers, and WordPress indicated it was strong. Regardless, I thought that was strange.

I think it may have been because I was switching between my admin account and another account to test the user role settings. Have you ever heard of that happening before, out of curiosity?

I messed up my settings also, and now when I try to login with my admin account it says “Forbidden”. I tried renaming the plugin file to disable the plugin, but I’m still getting the “Forbidden” message when I try to login. Do I need to delete the plugin file entirely?

*Edit* I just deleted the plugin files and it’s still saying Forbidden when I try to login. Great.

Does it specifically require 5.3 or can it run on 5.4? I don’t see an option to use 5.3 on my provider’s php panel, but I can reach out to them for help if I need to.

I’m using Jetpack’s Twitter widget (which is basically the widget you get from Twitter.com). I was able to customize it to eliminate the border between tweets, make the background transparent, and get rid of the scrollbar and I actually like it better because of the built in functionality (ex: people can favorite or retweet your content or @ mention you without leaving your site).

If I could remove my default icon it’d be perfect.

Where did you see that they’re abandoning the plugin?
