In reply to: Cleaning Out Old FilesThanks. I am asking for help with cleaning out old files, not a specific question about a specific plugin.
As far as posting in the Media Cleaner forum, I think if I ask the developer if his plugin is good, he’s going to say “yes.” I would prefer a more impartial opinion.

In reply to: [Ninja Tables – Easy Data Table Builder] Great Plugin and Support!!!Hmmmmm, I am sorry for your experience. I have Ninja Pro 4.1.3 with WordPress 5.6 and it is working perfectly. My issue was a styling conflict with the theme, which someone from Ninja replied to my support ticket with the fix in about 14 hours, or so. Maybe my problem was an easy fix and that’s why they responded so promptly.
Thank you for the information!!!
Great, thank you very much for the reply!!! What is the other common plugin with which it may conflict?? I like to stop problems before they start, when I can ;).
Thanks again!!

In reply to: Malware in Database???Thank you for the reply!!! I will scan again with Wordfence after checking the settings, and look for the script in the database.
Thanks again!!
I appreciate the reply!!! I just wondered if it were something you had already encountered and knew the fix. I have no time invested in creating events with the My Calendar yet, it was just installed, so I’ll use the Events Calendar which does not have any conflicts with the site. Maybe I will be able to use My Calendar on another project — it looks like a nice calendar!
Thank you very much!!

In reply to: Established site went to fresh install for unknown reason.Thank you very much for the reply!! Yes, I changed all passwords, which are twelve characters long of random capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. I have not asked my host about hacking, but can definitely do so. I scanned the site with a couple different security scanners, and they turned up nothing. Hoping this was just some type of catastrophic WP update failure.

In reply to: [Email Address Encoder] Why I’m no longer using this plugin. The fact that the plugin sent even a one-time notice to *anyone*, especially non-admin users, is simply unacceptable. It does not inspire confidence, no matter how good your intentions are.
Yes, that was a mistake and won’t happen again. The opt-in warnings are much better.
I would like to try your plugin on several sites I maintain, however, ^^^ THIS scares me!!!
I do not mind emails/notices to ME, the administrator of the site, but I will not use a plugin that contacts people on the website it is supposed to be protecting.
Please confirm that the plugin only contacts the admin, and DOES NOT contact any emails/phone numbers on the website?? Thank you!!

In reply to: [Email Address Encoder] Do not spam our email addressesDigbymaass — Thank you very much for this post!! I was going to install this plugin, but after reading about these issues, will certainly stay away.
Thank you very much for the post and information!!
Just discovered the message is being triggered by WP-SpamShield, not Wordfence….nevermind!!!
1. Wow, you’re right, clicking a button is MUCH easier LOL!!! Sorry, I did not know WP had a re-install option built-in…learn something everyday ??
2. Re-installing WP fixed the Wordfence bad link problem!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for sticking with this thread and helping me to fix the issue. I appreciate your help!! Will happily mark thread as resolved ??
Have a great New Year!!
Ouch…never re-installed WP on an active site before. Would the steps be the same as manually updating on this page https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Updating_WordPress??
The hosting company moved the WP installation directory, so it is very possible something was messed up in the move.
I disabled the directory listing.
I appreciate your help — thank you!!
