    Hello Oliver,
well, that solution did not work very well for me.

What I really meant is that it would be nice to swap the position of site identity elements with the slide Nivo captions as in slide captions going to the bottom of the image and site identity elements going to the top (not above) of the slide.

Well, let me enlighten you ??
This particular link to Legal Disclosure document would not go away because it was identified by me in the Privacy section of the Settings as GDPR compliance document ( this section was introduced by WordPress 4.9.6 in compliance with GDPR requirements).
So much for spending days looking for it!
Still don’t know where WP stores it, certainly not in site-info.php.
There you are, you owe me ??

    Oliver,
well I did double check and the theme was updated on 8th May 17:35 and all files and directories carry the same timestamp. And specifically, the Site-Info.php.
I dumped the database and did not find in there 2 instances of the link to Legal Disclosure document.
If you examine the page, you can see there is an event attached to the link that won’t disappear, the one preceding ‘Proudly powered by WordPress’ text.
Would that have anything to do with the lingering of that link?
I am really at my wits end here ??

    Oliver,
sorry for being a bit slow but I don’t follow.
You suggested that I could enable Header Sidebar and could put in there the site identity items like logo, title and description, which right now, since I installed Nivo slider, appear at the bottom of the header image.
So I have selected in the Customiser for the Header Sidebar to be ‘Position:Top, Left’ – I guess this is the same as activating it, right?
Now, in the Widgets I see Header, not Header Sidebar but still…
When I go to there I can add widgets. However, all I can see is the usual set of widgets and nothing which remotely looks like Site Identity items mentioned before.
I don’t see how I can add those items using Text or HTML widget.
    Regards
    Christopher

Sorry but how do you add site identity as widgets to the Header Sidebar?

I guess the problem can be solved in the meantime by adding the Nivo shortcode to each page…

Actually, a Text widget with links to the pages does the job

Now, I have a problem with old link to ‘legal disclosure’ page which I created initially by hacking into site-info.php.

Since then, I created and deleted the child theme and there was an update to twentyseventeen theme and for sure site-info.php does not contain that code anymore.

The only culprit I can see is your plugin ?? if it keeps on old version of the code somewhere.

I can’t find another reason for this code lingering on…

and I suppose HTML Widget to point to the sitemap, right?

    Oliver,
    not to worry.
I did it with Advanced Gutenberg plugin.
The problem with front page sections are that they are only below the page’s main content which means user has to scroll down to see if there is anything new – not good.

    Oliver,
please forget the first issue, the setting was not of full width, now it is.

One more thing, however. It would be nice to be able to decide if the slider is shown all all the pages not just the home page.

    Oliver,
now that I have installed Nivo slider, things have improved but more questions are coming nonetheless – in a separate thread.

    Oliver,
No, I haven’t copied the logo manually into the child theme ??
However, I’ll get rid off it and start again and we’ll see what gives.
Well, if you already support Nivo (which I thought was part of MetaSlider) then all well and good, I’ll switch over to Nivo and tell you how goes it.

Thanks again and stand by for other questions / requests

    Thanks again

    Oliver,
thank you, that cleared the problem.
Having said that there wasn’t much in my child theme to cause that, weird.
The problem I have now is that I needed the child theme to customise header.php to include the shortcode for MetaSlider.
You seem to have support for captions in Nivo’s layout but that doesn’t mean you handle MetaSlider, does it?
How do I get MetaSlider back in without customising the theme?
By the way, I did try to reactivate the child theme and the problem (two logos) came back and went when I reactivated again the original theme.
Shall I try and recreate the child theme?

    Thanks for your help

Well, I found out myself. There are 2 elements in the form: textarea and input.
So, if you use Weaver II as a theme, it’s easy, just add the following in the Advanced Options:
    .wpcf7 textarea {background-color: #BBBBBB;}
    .wpcf7 input { background-color: #BBBBBB;}

Sometimes things get urgent and one day seems like eternity. Or, maybe I am spoiled by responsiveness of Weaver forum?
Anyway, thanks for getting back and thanks for the information. I’ll test it and let you know if I got the right effect. I guess filmstrip below somehow replaces the thumbnails.
I’d rather not have to look for another photo plugin. Better the devil you know… ??
