Thanks, I was able to open everything in notepad (how very exciting, read sarcasm).
I am not sure that I have all the steps taken, I am trying to use word press alone, rather than the wordpress default that 1and1 gives me for my blog site. I changed all the information it requested, and when I hit upload, it uploaded everything that was already at the site.
Now I really want to change the theme, but I do not see where I can go while I am on my blog site. Do I need to go the the wordpress site and choose a theme then upload it to my site?
Well, I believe I just answered my question. But If you realize I have not….

Well I have restored the zip application, thanks so much for sending me to Bonobo, that site helped a lot.
Now the problem is…..
The program WordPress is on my desktop. It is zipped. When I open it, it becomes unzipped, however, when I right click it (the unzipped version, which is still a folder in the zipped folder) still wants to open with my damn picture it! I right click on the folder (again, in the zipped folder) but I do not get an option to open with!
Help, I am so over this!

ok, I know I can open zip files, and because I stupidly tried to open the zip file with the notepad….
So I retraced my steps, and now I cannot find the durn winzip in my programs! This is just not my day!

thank you, I have note pad, but don’t think I have the others.
