the article says IE does very strange and mysterious things with the float/margin combination you have. the author offers

“display:inline”

as a solution for class of the offending element

Taranis: Check to see if you have ticked the “wordpress should compress articles (gzip) if browser asks for them” option in your “Reading Options” tab. I had the same problem and when i turned the option off it went away. I think the reason the error disappeared for a while when you de-activated the plug-in is because the page was re-loaded – I’m not too sure why that happens but oh well.

if anyone else has this problem, look in your database in wp_options option id number 40 is the permalink structure. check to see if that has updated. mine wasn’t that’s why i got the problem

now the best part… at one point after everything went haywire i tried re-writing the links to /index.php/%postname% and that works!

have erased everything and reinstalled a clean wordpress

still get the 500 internal server error!!!

Help!! How do I change the permalinks back to what they used to be? I ran the update to this structure /%postname% but i got the 500 error.

the links, however, WERE renamed. when I delete the .htaccess file nothing changes. I can log into the control panel, but I can’t open any of the pages or comments, and when I try to clear the structure box in options-permalink.php i get the same 500 error!!

I have the same problem.

my settings are:

}

and

.post{
margin-right: 120px
}

because of the skin layout.

everything works fine in Firefox. but in IE the post is shifted too far to the right, almost another 100px extra, and the menu covers the posts….

apparently the tags didn’t work. removed them, everything is fine now. Thanks!!!

checked the GMT time settings. now post title is being displayed, but i still get the same error message.

yup. all other posts are where they should be. its no where in the archives but when I search for december posts in Edit, it’s displayed.
