Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Web server access for installing WordPressI have never had the premium .com account so I can’t be sure but I do not believe you can install plugins that are not listed on that page. You might want to go with .org so you can install/delete any plugins you want.
Hopefully someone knows some plugins that can help you.

In reply to: Garbage file in root diretoryTry asking on the plugin support at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/w3-total-cache
FYI, I use the same plugin and have the same 000000 folder with js and gzip files inside. I always thought these were compressed cache files.

In reply to: installation keeps failing. Why did it take 3 hrs the first time? Is it because you couldn’t figure out what to do or were you waiting for your server to respond?

In reply to: Some website issues1) When I go to musicwatchdog.com, the browser redirects to musicwatchdog.com/site/. Is this redirect done on purpose? The search is done under musicwatchdog.com/site/ (ex. https://musicwatchdog.com/site/?s=sonny) while the posts seems to be under musicwatchdog.com and that’s probably why you are getting the 404.
2) Where are the mp3s stored? double check the url of the files. Is this some type of plugin?

In reply to: Site on wp-com, installed new them on wp-orgIs that a custom paid theme? If so, I don’t think you can install one on wpcom.
You can leave your wpcom site active and continue working on the wporg site via your ip address. Then just switch everything over once you are done.

In reply to: Needing Extra Storage for PhotosAs stated before Amazon S3 will provide the storage you need. Plus it is very cheap.
Also if you are feeling adventurous, just move the whole site over to EC2 instance, use S3 for storage and CloudFront for CDN. They have been very reliable for me so far with very little cost and speed has been great.
Here is the Amazon tutorial on how to install WordPress on EC2.
