I am having the same issue. I have created my Google API Key and enabled the Javascript and Geolocation API’s.
This improved from showing nothing to at least momentarily loading the map before it dissappears and a different error message comes up:
This page was unable to display a Google Maps element. Please contact the site administrator. If you are the administrator of this site, please check the JavaScript console or check the following page for troubleshooting: https://g.co/mapsJSApiErrors
My site is also verified with Google.
Neither the front or backend is working.
