In reply to: wysiwyg not workingI didn’t intend to hijack the thread, I just did what was suggested in this thread and had a problem as a result.
I could actually do with some help, since nothing else has worked and now I seem to have destroyed a whole month’s work (the same thing had to be rebuilt three times) SO perhaps someone could actually answer the question so that I could get on with my life and off the forum?

In reply to: WYSIWYG tab still missing after manual re-install of WPYes the problem is still there in 2012… Funnily, the whole shabang works fine on my local installation with MAMP, but I have never had it working on my Host, not even before trying to install anything of my own (so with a fresh, ‘naked’ install… Where truth is stranger than fiction!
The website is https://www.classicbikenut.com, based on zDark and now running a zDark Child with a few very basic changes- text colour and size, date format in posts. I’ve tried out a few different themes, none of them give access the Visual tab. I have done two fresh installs, where everything except my immediate content was trashed first (including themes and widgets), of course the box is NOT clicked to disable the visual editor in the dashboard. I think that I shall slowly go and cry in a corner somewhere…:-) Peter

In reply to: Installation/ 'running' the install.phpSo you mean that I should copy and paste or write my sitename, including the ‘.com’ (or other TLD suffix) into the strip at the top where the links are in the browser, followed by /wp-admin/install.php and press refresh?
That was it?
??
Perhaps it should be written by dummies for dummies, and not by geeks for dummies, who are, like me, after all, well… dumb!Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: Migration using WPHave to be a bit more specific, sorry: the NOW website has been installed and is running on a shared Host. I have copied what I did in iWeb to the WP website setup on my localhost, which I want to use on the REAL host.
1) migrate what I have now copied into WP to webintellects host/server
2) ahow to moderate/add blogs after that, please!!Thanks, hope that is clearer!

In reply to: Home page edit?OK, Managed to sort this out myself… The ‘Home’ page is by default where the blogs end up, and ‘cannot’ be removed and the order of the static pages is given on the right of the dashboard in the edit mode of pages. Easy! ??

In reply to: Before I even start…Now THAT is what I call fantastic! So, I can ‘trial’ it all on the computer locally and then upload it when I’m ready!?? WOW! I knew that WP was what I was looking for! And afterwards, I just point it at my site, or do I just upload it directly there, to replace the ‘old’ files?? Can I then also integrate WebCommerce/ Shop interfaces as ‘usual’??
Peter ??
