In reply to: [Easy Updates Manager] Compatability issues with Litespeed?I don’t believe so. An ongoing update over at least the last 6 days (see below) seems unlikely. Also seems unlikely because I received no notice from my hosting provider, other than a 15 minute outage notice a few days before the switch.
I just checked my plugins, and EUM is doing (part of its job): a couple of plugin auto-updates have occurred since their switch the Litepeed 7 days ago: Yoast 6 days ago, and WordFence 1 hour ago. However, no “background updates have completed” emails in either case.
Shall I verify with my hosting provider?

In reply to: Can access localhost front end, but cannot log inThat worked! Thank you so much ?? Took a couple of tries, only worked though after I enabled “migrate full database” (not exactly that text, but something like that) in Step 3 of 4 of the Deployment Wizard. Not sure why this option was disabled by default… but whatever, it’s working now.
A couple of other “localhost” questions since you seem to be familiar with the environment:
(1) Will I receive the same plugin update notices that I do on my live install?
(2) I’m planning a second live site, let’s call it “Site2”. For future migration from live to local, is it as easy as just creating another subfolder within xampp/hotdocs and then running the Duplicator installer from there?
Or more clearly stated:
Today, I have c:/xampp/htdocs/Site1/{duplicator installer & package.zip for Site1}
So, when Site2 is ready for migration to locahost, can I just so this?
c:/xampp/htdocs/Site2/{duplicator installer & package.zip for site 2}Thanks!

In reply to: Can access localhost front end, but cannot log inAh, ok! That makes sense Benjamin. Before I try again: Do you also use the same database name and password as on your live site, when you’re copying to localhost?

In reply to: How do make an entire backup of localhost@rossmitchell
I was able to do a sql dump of my database using phpmyadmin no problem, result was filename.sql.You had also said (re: backup) “the first is your wordpress files, either copy the whole directory tree from your website hosting file location to your external drive, OR make a ZIP archive of the files onto th external drive.”
Since I’m purely local (for now), I made an (overly conservative?) guess that the files you meant were in two locations:
(1) The extracted contents of the downloaded wordpress install file, wordpress-4.9.5.zip
(2) c:\xampp (entire folder)Can you please check my assumptions, as follows:
(1) is not necessary, this is just the wordpress program install. Correct?
(2) I really only need to back up contents of c:\xampp\htdocs. Correct?Thank you for your help ??

In reply to: How do make an entire backup of localhost@rossmitchell, thank you for this thorough answer. I’ll give it a try. I guess I don’t know enough about it or don’t remember now, but to the best of my knowledge I don’t remember doing or installing anything on my webhost server at all. At this point, I’m still 100% client side/localhost (I think).
In any case, it looks like you’ve provided all the info I would need to go ahead with my “local c to local e” backup. I’ll update this post with results either way – it worked or it didn’t. Thanks!
