In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] homepageThank you, @annezazu. I just created a Front Page template and that works for my static home page. And it makes sense now that you reminded me about the template hierarchy.

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] header background imageI decided to go through the course Simple Site Design with FSE which is answering that question and several other basics. The high-level answer is that you need to choose a block pattern you like and modify it.

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] homepage@basscan Is your question about how to apply the Home template to the page selected as Homepage under Settings > Reading?
If so, I’m having the same problem. I don’t see how to apply the template. My only choices are Default, Page (large header), Page (no separators) or Blank.
I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. And I’ve figured out some other options, but I can’t see a way to delete this post. So if a moderator sees this, can you move it or delete it for me?
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Showing past events firstThank you all!
‘start_date’ => ‘today’ (less the comma) works perfectly for me.

In reply to: [Organic Profile Block] Error Message from WordPressAdditional info: It was me who tried to add a return to the bio section. Which created
<br />
tags. Rather than<br>
tags. Is there any way you can allow returns when typing in the “Write a brief bio…” section? Thanks.

In reply to: Link from Post List to Post on Same PageHi ashiquzzaman,
Yes, if only I could do it with static HTML, I’d be all set!
But, I need something dynamic that will work with all existing and future posts.
Thanks anyway.

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] How to downgrade to 2.xHi. Version 3.0 made all my testimonials disappear from this page: https://www.goldenacresranchflorida.com/home/testimonials-reviews/ .
I reverted to 2.4.8 and they are showing up, but the form is not.I’d always rather be using the latest update. I just re-updated to v3.0 (and yes, I did deactivate and delete v2.x first.).
The name in the sidebar said “Customer Reviews” and gave me a “You don’t have permission to access this page” error.
When I went back to the WP Dashboard, the sidebar said “Reviews” and shows me the list of my testimonials, but it won’t show on the page.

WP 4.3Can you help?
~ChristineThank you for your response @daniellser. I inherited this site and the theme is overly complicated. Especially the front page. (grrrr). The popup works fine on an internal test page: https://www.financiallywisewomen.com/test-page/
I’ll be using your recommendations later today.
Best!
~ChristineNever mind! Just asking the question helped me figure out something else to check!
Found a leftover script on the template.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Popups - WordPress Popup] IFS Form works but Popup does not redirectThank you for this answer, Damian.
I just now thought of another question. Should the pop disappear when someone presses Submit?

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Can't Activate (Parse Error)That last post inspired me to call BlueHost and I found out the troublesome site has PHP 5.2 running. There is a PHP Config file we updated under Hosting > cPanel > Software / Services > php Config. Now it’s at 5.4 and BackupWordPress has been activated.
So sorry for not checking deeper first. Thanks for everyone’s sharing.

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] Can't Activate (Parse Error)Ditto for us. Except we just get a white screen. We’re running 4.1 on BlueHost, so the PHP should be current. I tried manually installing v3.1.3, but no joy.
Love the plugin. I’ll be looking for a fix.
Best!
~ ChristineIt’s not an odd answer at all, Jan. I know the difference between a solution and a work around and maybe the core WP developers will fix this in the next update.
If you’ll read the first sentence in my initial post you’ll see that it was exactly the reference you cite that led me to believe I should post my results as a bug. And, something is indeed wrong with the javascript since, in my case, using the Google Libraries plugin ‘fixed’ it.
I just didn’t want to leave this thread open since it was only meant for reporting. Maybe there is a better way to post what seems to be a bug.
Well, since we have found solutions, and I was only trying to bring this to the attention of the core developers, anyway. I’m going to go ahead and mark as Resolved.
Cheers!
