We just ran into this issue but on a core basis, nothing to do with the plugin. We have removed FS_METHOD from wp-config.php and all of a sudden, it works. Maybe this helps someone.

I’m also looking for this capability function. Giving some users manage_options capabilites is far too much in my opinion. Basically, my case is the same as Joseph’s.

I have tested the functionality as you have described and yes, it works.
It’s a bit wired when virtual folders, like in my case, which were previously created, come into play too.

It works, so I’m happy – thank you your help.

OK, I have just downgraded Xampp to 7.0.21.

That version works fine without any errors or warnings.

No, it’s not – if you want to get rid of the message – you can – without Premium!

Premium functionality is only required in order to filter the pop up for certain events.

It’s two clicks – try it!

Nowadays, people – and especially admins are flooded by notifications.

I agree, WordFence is a great plugin. However, some steps in the latest version are a going into the wrong direction in my opinion.

The yellow circle is just annoying and the information value that an admin gets from it is pretty low. To bring it down to a point:

I’m running 15 WordPress systems, imagine:

Clicking through useless messages – not once – but 15 times. Really?

Yellow circle = super annoying – additional value for admins = 0!

Pleeeease let us disable it.
