In reply to: [Download Monitor] [PHP Error]@barrykooij you addressed me in 2 threads, I replied in both threads with the same message.
As a FINAL TAKE to this matter from my side I conclude that it was ONLY after me insisting publicly here in this forum that you came up with a meta update so that the plugin got rid of the www.ads-software.com warning that it might no longer be maintained as it had not been tested with the last 3 versions of WordPress. Today exactly the same thing is happening with the PHP error in a sense because of my reply in this thread; the PHP error was brought forward approx 5 (!) months ago and all that time you have not done a thing about it. That is the reality.

In reply to: [Download Monitor] Plugin abandoned ?The truth of the matter is somewhat different I’m afraid:
I am using 2 paid extensions and for one of them (mail lock) there’s 2 issues that as far as I’m concerned are to be considered technical issues:
1. After clicking on the mail lock “download” button the download starts but there is no way to show a message or redirect to some page to confirm the download has been initiated & taken care of. Right now just continues to be displayed. Adjusting this behavior with some code imho is a very small undertaking.
2. The styling of the Download button has a problem on mobile if the label is longer than the word “Download”
And then there is indeed a feature request for a double opt-in to avoid that people enter bogus email addresses so they don’t waste my time when trying to follow up on their download. It is true that no commitments were ever made about implementing this. While unfortunate, the lack of this feature never lead me to think that the plugin is abandoned let alone spread rumors about it being abandoned.
The release history https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/download-monitor/#developers was what started worrying me and others as the last update was april 3rd 2019.
www.ads-software.com thereafter started signalling that the plug may have been abandoned / no longer maintained as it had not been tested with the last 3 versions of WordPress. It was only per my public insistence in this forum that the plugin got a so called meta update june 8th with undisclosed “fixes and tweaks”.
Another thing that started worrying me was the lack of reply/action via private email for support requests.
I’m not trying to imply anything here so let me just share the following timeline of events which again lead me to think the plugin is being abandoned:– The last private email about my issues I sent to @barrykooij was on june 8th. He replied that he’d do a meta update and get back to me the next day for my other issues in that email.
– The meta update materialised but I did not hear from @barrykooj until june 12th @barrykooij telling me that he had not forgotten about me.
– Nothing futher happened.
– June 24th I emailed @barrykooij to get a status update but I did not get a reply.
– July 14th I emailed @barrykooij again to get a status update & asked if this plugin was still being worked on.
– I did not get a reply.Today august 27th -almost 3 months late- I replyed to @dyin that I suspected this plugin was dead in the water based on my experiences.
Basically I’d like to just get on with things: I have repeatedly stated that this plugin is unique & great and I’d be happy to pay for it for many more year’s to come.
I look forward to an email from you @barrykooij

In reply to: [Download Monitor] [PHP Error]I think & regret that this plugin is dead in the water. Really very unfortunate because it is a great concept. I’ve been chasing them for approx 2 year’s to no avail. See https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-abandoned-56/

In reply to: [Download Monitor] plugin abandoned ?Things don’t look good. I’ve bought the optional email lock plugin back in february 2019 trusting that the author @barrykooij per his promise -in writing- would add a feature that I was looking for. He’d release that by the end of august 2019 but it never materialized. Up until that time communication was ok. I’ve been trying to contact him ever since and at the end of january 2020 he replied telling me that he could not give any timeframe for the feature but still planned to add it. As a matter of gesture he waived the subscription fee for a year. This added feature is one thing but the thing that starts to worry me more and more is that the core plugin hasn’t received any update for well over a year now. No compliance testing with recent WordPress versions either. Download Monitor is a great and unique plugin for which I see no alternative so I truly hope all is well with @barrykooij and that he comes forward right here to spell out what his plans are with the plugin. With 100.000+ installs I think that would just be a courtesy to both paid and non paid users. I contacted the contributors that are listed today. So far one of them @mikejolley replied, telling me that he hasn’t been involved in it for year’s now. Download Monitor from what I’ve learned after doing some research was not created by @barrykooij ; he continued the work on it after the original author abandoned it I believe. I truly hope all will work out real soon.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Contact list disappearedtry disabling polylang. I have a similar issue caused by WPML

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Forms not showing in admin dashboard anymoreSame issue here. I have 3 CF7 forms. If I disable WPML multilingual CMS they re-appear. If I only disable “Contact form 7 multilingual” then 2 forms re-appear. To date I have not yet done anything with translations. WPML has been giving me quite some issues lately with their 4.3x update.
UPDATE: not only my forms had disappeared , I also got a message about wrongly configured email settings in my forms with a link to validate them. Clicking on that link resulted in the message disappearing (no forms found) but my forms did not re-appear.
I have fully disabled WPML for now

In reply to: [Redirection for Contact Form 7] Changes you made may not be saved.Icognito mode & no browser extensions: same problem. Will try on a clean wordpress install & get back to you. I am suspecting the messages you show from time to time about the pro version; I see no logic as to when they are being displayed. There appear to 2 kinds of messages; a link at the bottom & some image that sometimes appears ?
ThxForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Redirection for Contact Form 7] Changes you made may not be saved.I have exactly the same issue; if I disable the plugin the issue is no longer present.

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] use wetransfer embed in formKudos to my son Rutger for helping me out; this is the way to implement wetransfer embed in contactform 7 (and make the upload mandatory/required):
<div data-widget-host="habitat" id="wt_embed"> <script type="text/props"> { "wtEmbedKey": "not-disclosed-for-security-reason", "wtEmbedOutput": "span > .wt_embed_output", "wtEmbedLanguage": "nl" } </script> </div> <script async src="https://prod-embed-cdn.wetransfer.net/v1/latest.js"></script> <!-- The next input element will hold the transfer link. For testing purposes, you could change the type attribute to "text", instead of "hidden". --> [text* wt_embed_output id:wt_embed_output class:wt_embed_output]
Adding span > to the wtEmbedOutput key’s value did the trick!

In reply to: [Get Use APIs - JSON Content Importer] show once@jdembowski @berkux It’s not a security issue. The url is not supposed to be publicly known; anyone browsing this forum could take advantage of it and that should not be the case. I take great care when posting but unfortunately this one slipped through the cracks. I find the forum policy hard to understand/accdept. All parties involved (me & Bernard) agree to delete the post yet it is being refused. I see no reason.

In reply to: [Get Use APIs - JSON Content Importer] show once@jdembowski I need to obfuscate the url in the post but cannot edit or delete the post.
