thanks! had a play but I’m not seeing anything appearing no matter where I put the code… I’m not convinced I’m putting it in the right place tbh. Any ideas where it should go exactly in code below? (sorry, as said, I don’t know much about coding… obviously):-)

Assume I need to insert the code in the greyed-out box somewhere in the editor? (sorry but I don’t know code well at all).

OK, if anyone is interested, the only way I found to do this was to go back to the original .fla file and insert an invisible button and attach actionscript to this. It now works as a clickable banner but clicktracking doesn’t seem to work.

OK, using the second code the flash banner appears in the right location. I’ve got clicktracking enabled and the correct URL in the text field. However, the banner isn’t clickable still…. any ideas?

I’ve taken the spaces out of course…. and changed the dimensions to suit.

I also see this example code… would this do the job? if so, where does the URL and image code go exactly?

in the html view, there was a short piece of code between each of the thumbnail codes – should have copied it but can’t no in case it messes things up again.

That seemed to be causing the problem!

I’ve made a few more changes now and I’m pretty happy with the overall look now (I think the white area is OK as it makes it look uncluttered).

I do have a couple more questions…

Firstly, RSS feeds, Atom etc…. I don’t understand what these actually do? Do they take sinfo from other sites and display it on my blog, or do they allow people to sign up to get notifications of new material that I post?

Ads – can I insert banners around my site easily? I’ve been reading about Google Adsense and it doesn’t make much sense to me (excuse the bad pun). I’m more interested in banners from advertisers selected by me really.

Finally… these facebook and twitter buttons that everyone seems to have… what do they actually do? what is the potential there?

I had changed the address of the site from https://example to https://www.example and that seemed to mess it up. Anyone tell me why (in idiot language)?

I’ve just noticed something else… I can’t now view the areas I’ve restricted to ‘subscriber’ level users even under my admin profile.

It seems as though I can log-in to the dashboard of both admin and subscriber user levels OK, but then when I go to ‘view site’ it resets back to an unsubscribed leve.

Excellent. I think I understand the principle behind adding the plugin…. just wondering how I upload a folder in its entirity though? I’m using CPanel to administer the site….

The videoblog sounds great for the other questions.. I’d really appreciate that. I assume that there must be a section of code for the current template that could easily be changed, simply replacing the colour code… but I don’t know where it is. I’m doing a bit of reading about child themes but I’m not sure I understand the process of setting this up on my webspace.

If there’s any way to tinker with those end pages to allow extra images to be added, I’d also love that. These pages have a code (for example: https://www.digital-reefs.com/?attachment_id=196 ) but they aren’t listed in the pages hierarchy. Is this beciase they are generated by an image gallery?

Another issue I’m having… I don’t seem to be able to log-in to the site even though my password is correct and accepted. Any ideas?
