In reply to: [Groups] Performance Issues with GROUPS pluginYes, I am experiencing about 1.5 seconds extra load time with Groups enabled. Latest WP version, all plugins up to date.
I think it must have grown to become slower as a result of a much larger database over time. That’s not good news if you rapidly want to expand your business…
When Groups is disabled, 3.0 seconds admin load speed with >30 plugins. When enabled, 4.5 seconds (query monitor info). When enabling three more paid Groups add-ons, it goes to 4.6 seconds but the main issue is Groups.
This plugin is definitely in need of some serious performance optimization.
As a workaround, you can try and reduce the front-end impact by selective plugin loading (Plugin Organizer by Jeff Sterup). However, in the back end you can’t help but feel the increasing drag.
Itthinx, I hope you’ll review the performance aspect of the plugin!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce extremely slow after WordPress 4.2 updateI don’t believe this has been fixed yet in WordPress, as a latest core update slowed everything down until we went back to the fix earlier described in this thread!
Is anybody from the WordPress core team reading this / on this thread? Has someone from Woocommerce shared this with WordPress? (now that they’re part of Automattic I would hope for more emphasis on speed optimization)
I have no idea either what this “installer” plugin is?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce extremely slow after WordPress 4.2 update@doug Smith You’ve saved us!
We also had this weird 28sec load time all of a sudden and couldn’t pinpoint what the culprit was. I did feel it had something to do with WP 4.2, but could never have found the solution that you shared. It did the trick, so a massive thank-you.
Yes, we may no longer have a dropdown for custom fields (unused anyway, probably by most users – @lakjin you should be safe), but we got back our 3sec load time back and that’s far more important. Terrific investigative work @doug Smith.
This time it wasn’t WooCommerce (for a change); I confirm that it’s a core WordPress 4.2 issue and I therefore strongly recommend that someone in WP takes note and raises this as a core fix for WP 4.2.3. We really do not want to tamper around with core files, but this was a necessity.
I confirm the temporary fix @dough Smith mentioned works.

In reply to: [Groups] Groups making thousands of queries@itthinx @russnem I’ve been following this and wanted to pitch in briefly because IMHO Russ makes sense – the Groups plugin in its current state is not as optimized as it could / should be.
Not saying that it isn’t a great plugin – it truly is! – but tests tend to be done on fresh or very basic installs, whereas when put in action on busier, existing installs plugins and queries together often can create a problem.
As long as Groups is part of the problem, and not the solution, that’s not good of course.
I have various iithinx plugins, so this isn’t just about the free version. But those plugins do rely on the Groups plugin.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Groups] Groups making thousands of queries@itthinx Thanks for your prompt reply. Site went blank. Had to revert to backup (fortunately I always take one). It didn’t work when I clicked on the “update” option inside WordPress. What’s the alternative? Disable plugin, overwrote via FTP, re-enable? Or disable, delete plugin, install new one for example? Sorry may be very obvious but I couldn’t find the answer anyway. It may be worth holding off the update until the query issue is resolved though, I was thinking. Two birds….

In reply to: [Groups] Groups making thousands of queriesrussnem, we have the same issue.
In fact, Groups team, we haven’t been able to successfully update to the latest Groups version either – it crashed the site when we tried. Is there a route to update this via FTP and what is the best route?
Groups is an integral part of our site so hope that this can be resolved. Because it’s a great plugin.

In reply to: [JP Sharing] LinkedIn Sharing has a redirect loopSame thing here!
I love the plugin, would super appreciate if you could fix or share how we can fix it ourselves ??
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Groups] Groups making thousands of queriesI have exactly the same.
Also with WP Engine.
All caching enabled – used to work fine before. Think there’s an incompatibility with woocommerce and/or Sensei.
Is there a resolution yet?

In reply to: [JP Sharing] ShortcodeIsn’t there a simple [sharethis] shortcode that can be called? I tried to wrap my head around this… but failed ??
Thanks!

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] Reviews are inserting themselves in the footerThey’re creating a new version, which will drop in the next months. I think it’s one of the best reviewing plugins there is. Mainly because it supports the Google star rating ??
I’ve tried so many different review plugins. None of them did what this plugin does. I’m quite pleased and this version 3 should be pretty amazing from the looks of it.

In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] Reviews are inserting themselves in the footerHi Cathryn999,
Try to add this CSS part:
#wpcr_respond_1, #wpcr_respond_2 {
display: none !important;
}That should do the trick?
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Customer Reviews] Reviews are inserting themselves in the footerI resolved this by removing the button (as I use a different page where we capture our reviews). If of interest use this CSS code ??
#wpcr_button_1, #wpcr_button_1:link, #wpcr_button_1:visited, #wpcr_submit_btn, #wpcr_submit_btn:link, #wpcr_submit_btn:visited {
display:none !important;
}If you don’t know how to insert CSS, I can highly recommend this plugin by Ryan Nutt “Insert JavaScript & CSS” (you can add CSS per page even!). Terrific.
Hope that helps.

In reply to: [Event Calendar & Ticketing] Decision to Buy – or NotActually, I ended up buying paid plugins because I found you through this free plugin, so if you portray helpful support for your free plugin but do NOT support premium plugins, that’s actually called FRAUD under international law.
Please point me to the forum rules. I’ll gladly look through them.
I would have thought that people would appreciate being warned against your continuous gross misconduct.
Here’s two good links:

Do your due diligence carefully. Avoid Ignitewoo plugins at all cost.

In reply to: [Event Calendar & Ticketing] Decision to Buy – or NotI don’t think you’d want to buy with them:

I spent $200 with them. ZERO support. Faulty plugins. Big shame.
