Thanks Jeremy. I am talking about subscriptions through jetpack. Up until a fe days I had that widget and now I am trying to stop those emails. I did follow what you said, yet they are still going out?

I want to turn on Mailchimp (which is the widget you are seeing), but haven’t yet since JP is still sending them out.

Since it works for me, but not for some people how will I know if the issue is fixed?

it had something to do with the customization of the theme. Did you customize anything?

go under appearance/customize/widgets.. what do you see there?

I don’t think that it had anything to do with the plugins, but I could be wrong!

@dmiller53 YES! After hours of not only me researching, but a few others, I finally had the person who put my site together fix it! It had to do with my customized theme (I think). Whew….

It looks like under customize -> widget it says this: There are no widget areas currently rendered in the preview. Navigate in the preview to a template that makes use of a widget area in order to access its widgets here.

I tried updating the theme. The error happened when I installed WP 4.4

any hope on getting this fixed or do I need to select a new theme?

The sidebar is blank. 0 of my widgets are working. Search, to pposts, you name it, it’s not working

sure enough. it is the theme. changed to a new one and it worked. changed back to adele and it doesn’t work. Has to do with the 4.4 upgrade that I did yesterday. Any suggestions now?
