I understand now that there is a conflict if I have two categry filters. Something seems buggy anyway,

1. If I have one category filter only everything works perfectly. I can select and unselect the categories.
2. However, if I add a new category filter for mobile and hide it as well as you described there is a problem. Suddenly I can select multiple categories and I cannot unselect.

I guess this here is the main source of confusion.

Thank you but that is not true, at least from my understanding

Please see the test products, both have their own category.

However I can select both categories, plus unselect is not possible. where is the error here? Appreciate your help…

On test products for example I have no templates at all but I can still flag both categories
