  • Hi Jason,

    thanks for link to your version archive.

    1) can you tell me which was the last version before you made the change with the browscap part that has greater memory demands? (that seems to be what caused things to break for me.

    2) How do you recommend I downgrade slimstat so that nothing else breaks?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Jason,

    you’ve prolly figured out by now I am no rocket scientist with respect to wordpress or PHP or web-hosting. I do have a degree in CS from long ago, so neither am I a complete nitwit.

    I’ve killed the PHP process on my hosted site and restarted it, cleared caches, quit browsers.

    when slimstat is running, I get:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19922944 bytes) in /home/content/11/7539211/html/wp-content/uploads/wp-slimstat/browscap-db.php on line 65540

    when I disable slimstat, the website loads like normal.

    Is there any way I can install an old version of slimstat?

    I need to spend time doing my non-profit work and writing about it, not troubleshooting my website.

    thanks so much for your help.

    Mine is still broken.

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19922944 bytes) in /home/content/11/7539211/html/wp-content/uploads/wp-slimstat/browscap-db.php on line 65540

    Updated to 4.3.3, problem arrived wen using 4.3.2
    WP is at 4.6.1
    PHP 5.3

    Have disabled WP by adding the word “disabled” to the end of the Slimstat plugin folder numerous times. My site works when WP Slimstat is disabled. This was suggested by the TS folks at GoDaddy.

    Removing “disabled” I then test it from my computer I usually use, at home, it works for a little while, sometimes a few hours.

    Recently bumped the memory to 256M, then 384M in the PHP.ini file. and it worked at home. I checked it from my iphone on the road and got the fatal error again, so have once again disabled.

    Here is first few lines of .ini file:

    register_globals = off
    allow_url_fopen = off

    expose_php = Off
    max_input_time = 60
    memory_limit = 384M ** this line not present when error arrived, added, set to 256M, then 384M
    variables_order = “EGPCS” ** problem persists
    extension_dir = ./
    upload_tmp_dir = /tmp
    precision = 12
    SMTP = relay-hosting.secureserver.net
    url_rewriter.tags = “a=href,area=href,frame=src,input=src,form=,fieldset=”

    What do I need to do to get slimstat working again?

    thank you

    Initially the error I saw was this (seen in image that is hopefully below

    slimstat error

    After upgrading to latest version, the error seen in earlier post is what I see now.

    Have had to disable slimstat to get my website to work

    This is what I see when Slimstat is enabled now

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19922944 bytes) in /home/content/11/7539211/html/wp-content/uploads/wp-slimstat/browscap-db.php on line 65540

    PHP 5.3
    Slimstat 4.4.3

    above error message comes up when trying to access site as user or admin. Only way to get site working is to disable Slimstat.

    Any suggestions?

    thank you

    Hi again and thanks for your prompt reply.

    1) how do I manually download the latest version?

    I only see 2.9.1, which I did download to my machine. Twice now I have tried to upload it and failed both times. The first time when the existing slimstat was active, the second time after deactivating it.

    thanks again.
