Hi Lance. In my particular case, we needed a very special and complex .htaccess configuration, so I didn’t use the one the plugin provides, but a custom one. Thus, I have no idea if the htaccess it builds is correct or not.

However, an error 500 might mean many things: either a bad code, mod_rewrite not enabled, some htaccess code that doesn’t work with your exact Apache configuration and so on. In general, if you’re rewriting (which is what the htaccess should do, but again, I didn’t pay attention to it), the problem is usually related to mod_rewrite

It has very detailed explanations, so I’m guessing you’re expressing your frustration on your own mistakes trying to harm those that tried to help you… for free

Changed to yet another list and now I see there’s an error after doing a forced sync:

    16:27:56Found 3 users.
    16:27:58Fetched 3 users.
    16:27:58Updating #78 jose <[email protected]>
    16:28:01Success: Updated user 78
    16:28:01Updating #79 jose2 <[email protected]>

    16:28:03Updating #5 Suzanna88V <[email protected]>
    16:28:07Error: [object Object]
    16:28:07Done

    and in the log:

[2016-10-11 19:28:08] ERROR: User Sync > Error subscribing or updating user 5: Bad Request. Your merge fields were invalid.

100% sure it’s your server’s fault, or something you did. I tested this in 4 different servers so far and it works like a charm

    like hell. You said it

the so called “free unlimited backups” are only for local backups (hint: you’re advertising your plugin as DROPBOX, hence REMOTE) and as said, those local backups will never complete. If you have some understanding troubles, look for the work ETHICS on a dictionary

sorry Michael, show_ui was set to true and I forgot to let you know. I’m using another solution now, but I’m thinking it could be a Firefox issue since I’m seeing this happening in many scripts due to the super-strict cross domain policies of latest versions

I forgot to mark this as resolved and doesn’t allow me to edit the previous post, so this post is only to mark the question as resolved

OK, I have found the issue, and it is pretty stupid, but it may help someone:

First, after fresh installs, clean database, a lot of testing, adding/deleting plugins, and whatever you could imagine, I finally could narrow the issue to the theme. I started deleting everything in the theme (meaning I served just a blank header, a blank index with just the edge code and a blank footer) and the problem persisted, so the problem was in the scripting, which were just styles.css, Bootstrap and jQuer, all of them from CDN versions. Tried loading different versions from CDN, loading different local versions, nothing. Deleted style.css… and bum, it worked. So the problem was there. After going crazy for 2 weeks, this was the issue, I had this line in CSS:

    img{max-width:100%; height:auto}

which of course, is a pretty common line in responsive design, so I’d never thought it would be that. But well, deleted it and like magic, everything started to work.

Just one thing: the issue appears to be not related to the plugin, since the animation didn’t work with the plugin or without the plugin, it didn’t work in any way as long as that line was there. Removing it made it work with and without plugin.

I tried including the animation just as the instruction says, the iframe was a desperate measure (with and without the plugin) just to add something I noticed: the animation works fine, it just doesn’t work when it “meets” WordPress. I will try your suggestion of a clean install and no plugins and will also try default theme to see if I can narrow the issue and will let you know

I don’t know if it is of help, but if I load the animation “as is” in the server, it works just fine, even without the jagged edges. As a desperate measure, I tried to load it as an iframe (yes, the same working animation) and… again:

    edge_includes/jquery-2.0.3.min.map 404 (Not Found)

I don’t know how something that works fine in fact doesn’t work because it has a missing file, but it’s more than evident that it’s something related to Adobe Edge conflicting with WordPress, although I have no idea what. I tried no conflict but it did nothing, it just works as standalone, and only as standalone. Tried opening the file in the server and removing removing jQuery from the edge just in case so I didn’t have 2 jquery calls, but nothing, tried removing my version of jQuery and leave the one called from Edge, nothing. Anyways, just mentioning all this to see if it helps to diagnose the issue, although it seems at least there are some missing files

just in case, I fixed it. The Jquery-Placeholder file I downloaded from another source had a different placeholder name, so I changed it to the one WOO has in the page and it worked. But quite honestly, very unprofessional to call a script that isn’t even included in the package, first time I see it. And the lack of support… well, guess I’ll have to use other plugins in the future

    Hi Takayuki:
Tried what you suggested and nothing. However, placed the form in an inner page and it worked fine, so guess it’s something in my frontpage template and totally unrelated to CF7. Many thanx for taking a look

OK, my bad, so here’s the review:

This plugin is an extremely limited version of something that can be achieved for free by copy pasting some freely available code at https://docs.woothemes.com/document/editing-product-data-tabs/ . In that extreme limitation scenario, the plugin works. Which means more or less like saying “Hello Dolly” plugin works.

If someone wants what (in fact) is freely available, then there’s the choice of paying $99, so this is not some spammy “freemium” model or abuse of GPL, nor it is selling bottled tab water, nor taking WP as a spam board, because in fact the plugin works.

Continuing with the review of the free version of the plugin itself, everything else (description, FAQ, business model, etc) it not a lie either. Just hiding the truth to non-knowledgeable WP users to get advantage of them on something that is FREE. So just saying the truth here, sorry if it bothers anyone
