  • I’m having a similar problem – exported content from a 4.4 install, imported to another 4.4 install, custom menus in sidebar widgets failed to appear. I recreated them in the new 4.4 install, in case there was a problem with the export/import process, and strangely, only SOME of them displayed.

I’m using a child theme, in which the sidebars are all registered in functions.php and the page templates all use the same code (the idea is that for each different section of the side you see a different sidebar menu).

    Any thoughts?

UPDATE: never mind, my host was experiencing a DDOS when I was uploading the child theme, and not all of the files in it successfully uploaded. Problem fixed, not theme related after all.

    Okay, thanks.

Just FYI, no problems so far with the https plugin and the twenty fifteen theme.

    (sorry, I’m using Kubuntu 15.04)

    Hi David,

I was having the same problem, but I found when I switched themes the plugin started working as expected.

I’ve experimented using Chromium, Chrome, Firefox, Konqueror & Rekonq.

I have an additional variable in play, which is that I’m using a free, unsigned dreamhost ssl cert, and I found that depending on which theme I used, in addition to your plugin working or not, http would forward to the base WP url, which uses https, or not.

(I’ve since installed the “Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection” plugin to cover my bases)

The misbehaving theme in both cases was the minimalist “less”, which I was looking forward to using, but when I switched to Twenty Fifteen, everything worked as expected.

Any idea what might be causing the problem in some themes and not others?

    Thanks!
