Here’s the link again (it is working now, our hosting service was down for a while yesterday) Obtaining Permanent Residency in Belize scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will see that the one link I have for AAA First Aid kit DOES work – it’s a text link with a working Roll-over. But on the right-hand side, I have two ads. One is an Amazon “widget” that lists my recommended books, which works (it is inserted as a text widget) and below that I have a blank square which is supposed to be the wp-insert ad. I followed the instructions on the video link for wp-insert for inserting into side bar – but it never resolves. I have One ad in that box that is the Amazon text with roll-over (on the top) then below it I have one Amazon ad that is both an image and the text. The one below works perfectly – but the one on top is not showing anything. Thanks for any help you can give. ??

Okay, I waited overnight for the ads in the sidebar widget to appear from Amazon, and they never did, so now what? How do I get the roll-over image in my Ad-Widget to work correctly? I have my script code in the code area for the code, I have the widget added to my sidebar under the widget section and I have it in the correct position: discoveringbelize.bz/adventurous-destination-belize/ you can see the box for the ads in the side bar (position #3) but the ads do NOT show up! Please help!

Okay – this is one of those “Ah-ha” moments. After waiting for about a half hour (or more, I went to do something else and left the ads as they were) when I cam back, the roll-over image was working! It seems as though the problem is NOT with the plug-in, it’s with the roll-over image being retrieved by Amazon and inserted correctly into the ad! So if anyone else has this problem, go ahead and insert the code for the roll-over, and WAIT! It should work.

Thanks for such an easy solution to placing ads in both the post content and into the sidebars! A donation will be forth-coming! ??

You have no idea how long I spent last night trying to find ONE social Media plug-in that would do everything I wanted, and reading the stats on your said it would – I was just too brain-dead (tired from working all day) to figure it out! Thank you so much for a social media plug-in that actually works!

I’d just like to know how to add the “Like” button to the social media Display? The “Share” buttons work just fine, but I want a “Like” button to be included. When I hover over it shows the share buttons, but I can’t figre out how to get the “Like” button (and number of likes) added to the list of social media. Any help would be appreciated.

IF you haven’t found a solution for this, I just did it by uploading the background image I wanted to my media library, then copied the url for the image I just uploaded and pasted that into the are for the background image. Worked like a charm! *Note, you may have to refresh your page, or clear your cache and reload it, but it DOES work! ?? Thanks for a great widget!

Although i found where the “Customize” and “Suffusion Options” are, for some reason, since I first allowed it to default, it keeps putting all the widgets in the right or top sidebar – not in the left. I can clearly see where I should be able to change the layout, but I can’t seem to get it to “stick!” Any suggestions? Maybe uninstall it and start over? (sigh)

Thanks WPyogi! I like Suffusion, but I want two sidebars – a left and a right – always, on every page. It says it supports two side bars, but when you go to customize it, It says that it defaults to the right side bar and any other widgets will be added to the RIGHT of that (and I tried it and couldn’t get the left sidebar to appear.) What am I missing?

Yes, of course! I find themes that look like or SAY they are true 3-colum themes, but when you load them and try to set up 3 columns – they either don’t have the option, or don’t work! Such as Emphaino – it looks exactly like what I want, but when I try to customize it to add 3 columns and there is no place to set 3 columns!

Then there’s Jolene, which shows that there can be 3 columns, but it is NOT a responsive theme! The only way to get 3 columns (according to the author) is to set the “screen size at 1366px and more.” Which then negates it being a truly responsive theme.

I did find the “Reizend” which I am trying out now, but I’m not finding it to be easily customizable – although It is a LOT better than any of the others I have found so far.

If anyone has any suggestions for a truly responsive and easily customizable *=(i.e., Header image, font size, font colors, roll-over colors and hover colors) I would sure appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Then why does the content width customization say to make the content full width 1349 instead of 1366?

There is no an option for the content width of a page with 2 sidebars…

Then why advertise that you can have two columns with a fluid layout? that is just NOT true!

I went back to the sample site for the Jolene Theme and checked the top level menu item for “Page Templates” Under “Two Sidebars (Default Template) URL: https://wpblogs.ru/themes/jolene/two-sidebars-default-template/ there is NO PAGE WITH BOTH SIDEBARS!

Therein lies the issue! No matter what I do, no matter what sizes I make the content, the right side bar WILL NOT SHOW at the same time as the Left side bar!

However, just for now (until I have time to go set up a child theme correctly following the on-line guide) could you possible please tell me what width to set all of the Content width sections to in order for my right and left columns to BOTH show up at the same time? I would REALLY appreciate it! I.e., what should each of these be set at for a page width of 1349?

Content Width while both sidebars are empty = ?
Content Width while left sidebar is empty = ?
Content Width while right sidebar is empty = ?
Page Template Left Sidebar: Content Width = ?
Page Template Right Sidebar: Content Width = ?
Page Template Full Width: Content Width = ?
Page Template Full Width Wide: Content Width = ?

I’ll get the rest of the colors and font sizes/styles changed in the child theme, but at the moment – getting those sidebars up and running is my top priority!

Thank you cats_456, I appreciate the response. I guess maybe I’m confused (OK, I don’t think it, I know it!) ?? I am totally new to WP and PHP, and it is a big learning curve for me to jump into the actual PHP code of the theme. If I am understanding the PHP code above correctly (and I’m the fist to admit I may not be understanding it correctly…) what you are doing is calling a new style sheet (thin-parent-style) and in that style sheet you’ve set the max width of the page to 1100px, changed the site-description font to black, the site-title font to black, the entry header color to black, the category list hover to black and the minimum width of the page to 1100px and the max content width to 500px, then set JUST the right sidebar to 300px. What I don’t understand is 1) why is the MAX width of the content 500px/ Why are you using px at all (opposed to percentages?) And why set ONLY the right column width to 300px?

Truly, I don’t understand the exact code in the PHP code. It looks like you are calling a function called thin_enqueue_styles – is that the name of a function that already exists and uses the thin_enqueue_styles style sheet? How come I can’t find that style sheet in the Editor? <sigh> Sorry I have so many questions. It is just frustrating since I truly DO understand the CSS, yet I can’t get to the .CSS that I want to change. From my perspective, it would be easiest to just edit the main .CSS classes for the font color, style and sizes directly in the main Style sheet, since I know what I’m doing. However, I am not sure how the dimensions of the theme are set up with pixels instead of percentages, so I wouldn’t want to change those directly, but I WOULD like to know what the optimal settings for a 1280 by 800 resolution would be. Or, what the standard optimal resolution/display setting should be for a regular laptop/tablet display.

I know I have a lot to learn, it’s just the frustration of NOT being able to easily change the things that “seem” like they should be easy to change!
