I’d be happy to provide site health info. Should I post here or DM? And it was not necessarily with IPv6 users, it was random. Im not sure if it was because we were on multisite blocking subsites, or the infrastructure of VIP go.

Im having the same problem. Most users/IPs are fine, but random people get blocked. I add their IP, and the homepage works for a minute, but subpages do not work. Incognito also does not work. And then a few minutes later it all stops and the user cannot access anything. I delete their IP, readd, it starts working on the homepage, and then stops. This all started with 5.5.1.

I am using a multisite with subdirectory install, where certain subdirectory sites are blocked.

I did learn that the plugin accepts IPv6, which solved some issues for people not getting access, so @curiousadmin maybe try that. Check if the user has an IPv6 ip, such as users from Comcast/xfinity.

Needed to use get_the_ID(). Somehow, without Yoast running $post->ID worked fine, but turning it on caused that to break.

@beckyhartke it depends on your needs. I you are creating the subsites yourself as a super admin, you do not need this plugin. There is a spot under sites in the multisite admin for you to enter the domains you want and that just works. If you need users to be able to create domains or are going to allow users to create new sites, then you may still need a plugin, however, this may or may not be the one. This plug in is pretty dated and has not been updated in 2 years. You may have better luck with the WPMU premium paid plugin.

In the end, I was sort of able to get this working. IT had to do with my nginx configuration. Ultimately, though, I ended up ditching this plugin altogether, because my domain mapping worked better without it.

Well, I couldnt get in no matter what I did. I tried all these suggestions and was totally locked out (500 error). If I had to guess what happened, is that the script overloaded the server memory and brought down the server, which then somehow corrupted the database.

I deleted everything and restored the db from a back up (luckily, I had one) and am now back to normal. Thanks for all the help. Guess I am going to be a little more cautious about how I create my network of sites next time.

Thanks. I actually was mainly interested in the original question of how to disable all the plugins which you guys answered. I was hoping by extension that maybe you could enlighten me on some of the theory about what could be happening to cause the error, but it’s always so much simpler than I think it is. I.e. Rogue plugin takes down site, delete plugin and restore from backup.

I thought I mentioned? Its actually a paid plugin from wpmu. I have been asking them as well, but for the time being I was orignally hoping to just get the site back up.

I do have a fairly recent backup, and I have been close to wiping and reinstalling all day. It looks like thats what I am going to have to do.

Thats what I am saying, I ran a plugin to batch create network sites and it brought the whole site down. Now I cant figure out how to get it back up. I have turned off all plugins and restarted the vps and I still cant get in (i.e. 500 error).

So I have renamed htaccess and plugins folder and I am still getting the 500 error. Is it possible some thing in the database got corrupted?

I actually tried the perishable press technique, but I didnt see any of the multisite network activated plugins in that DB entry. I thought maybe there was another table in there that the network plugins.

If you have a wordpress comment export file, you might be able to open the xml file from disqus and do a find/replace in a text editor and remap each of the fields in the disqus xml to match the wordpress file. It might be a little tedious and time consuming, but if you have a lot of comments it might be faster than manually copying them.
